Presumably not as good as a scenthound's, but Pit Bulls, Staffordshires and Patterdales are bull terriers, so they can sniff out rodent pests. How good is a game dog's nose on big quarry like feral pigs? Do hunters often use bulldogs for tracking as well as catch dog work, i.e. without cur bay dogs? I used to know a fellow in San Jose who used a Pit Bull and a Bandog teamed for hunting feral boar and bear (back when it was still legal to hunt bear with dogs 8-|).
