One thing, you as Oakleys momma will have to come to grips with is despite your thoughts on fighting, to most pitbulls it is not only not unpleasant, but the most fun they can have. I had a little pit that would do anything to get out and scrap. And after I would catch him and pull him out ,he was just like a little puppy. His eyes were wide open ,and smiling, even after a bad ass kickin.....lol So the cruelty really lies in the human mind....IMO

If it is true about the genes then when GR.CH Zebo was bred To CH.Honeybunch they would of produced great fighting dogs....If you look back into history you will find that not a 1 good dog came out of that breeding....I believe that its the dogs heart that carryies them to fight to the death on a hog or protect its human partner. It's the pitbulls heart that gives it the willingness to not stop tell the task at hand has been completed....As I see it anyway :D

WELL WHEN YOU KIDS HAVE BRED ENOUGH DOGS THEN YOU WILL REALIZE WHAT I HAVE SAID TO BE TRUE. BAND WANGON JUMPERS, LOL. I COULD CARE LESS, IF FOLKS HERE AGREED WITH ME, IF I TRIED REAL HARD, BUT I WILL NOT..... WHETHER ONE BELIEVES GAMENESS TO BE A TRAIT PASSED BY GENES OR NOT WILL BE PROVEN ONLY WITH TIME.

HOW MANY DOGS HAVE YOU BRED TOGETHER BBK, RUMBLE, AND THE OTHER BAND WAGON JUMPERS, LOL. I WILL BET YOU HAVE NOT BRED HALF THE BULLDOGS I HAVE.

LET ME ASK YOU THIS IF IT IS IN A MULE'S HEART TO WIN THE KENTUCKY DIRBY, CAN HE?
LOL, AND THE PART ABOUT ZEBO, ............ THIS STATEMENT JUST PROVES YOUR IGNORANCE,.......... IF YOU WANT GAME DOGS, GO TO THE SOURCE OF GAME DOGS, NOT GAME DOGS, IF YOU WANT BOX DOGS, GO TO THE SOURCE OF BOX DOGS, NOT BOX DOGS, ............ YOU ARE ALL PART OF THE LATE NINETIES, ADVERTISING, AND MARKETING BULLDOGS, AND IF YOU HAD BULLDOGS ON THE YARD OUT BACK BEFORE YOU ARE NOW BLINDED.

ASK FLOYD B. HOW MANY CHAMPIONS HE IS FEEDING AND YOU WILL HEAR THE TRUTH THAT CAN WAKE YOUR "WANNA BE DOGGER'S ASSES" UP!

SORRY, BUT I AM TIRED OF PLAYING AND SUGAR COATING MY WORDS, BUT YOU ALL SHOULD GET A BOOK, A MENTOR, OR JUST RAISE A REAL BULLDOG FROM SCRATCH NOT FROM PEDIGREE.

ALL WHO OPPOSE, TALK AMOUNG YOURSELVES.
I WILL NOT DEFEND THIS STATEMENT. NOT TO
SOMEONE THAT HAS TO PROVE GAMENESS ON
    A COMPUTER. IT
    HAS
    BEEN
    A BLAST
GET BACK TO YOUR CIRCLE JERKING, LOL.
    LATER

i'm not jumping on an band wagon i'm stating an opinion on how i feel if you do not like my opinoin onac thats fine by me but you need to keep your negative comments to yourself. this is a place people come to learn about all aspects of the breed not to be put down when they state a comment or opinion.

I think that is awesome what you are doing for that dog, no dog deserves to be kicked around. Good luck with your dog, keep an open mind, and you'll learn alot....

Now, let me address the "infamous onac"...
This forum is about opinion, and my opinion is that gameness is NOT a gene, as I said prior, if it were, it would be much easier to breed for, as it is in chickens. As for what I have bred, I'm not ashamed to say that I've only bred a couple, and I'm happy with what I have. As for us needing a mentor, I have a mentor that is in these dogs for 31+yrs now, and when he speaks I sit back and listen, and I'm sure he's seen greater dogs than what even your simple mind can understand. You come on here and talk like you are the great and all knowing Onac, when really, you don't mean squat to us. Good luck with your gameness is only a gene theory, I'm gonna continue on the track I'm headed...

LOL I was just thinking of something, you asked us how many bulldogs we've bred, why does that matter?? Hell I see you on boards all the time peddling pups and dogs away, so my question to you Mr.Big Time Dog Man is...should we breed more so we can peddle like you as well?? Best of luck in your quest to be "the man", chump.

I think everyone is right on this one. I don't think people should critisize others on here for what their opinion is. You know what I mean. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. There was no need for him to call everyone on here "bandwagon hoppers." That was kinda childish. I think the more adult thing to do would have been to state what your opinion is and then give some type of explanation for it. I too believe that genes make up a lot of what an animal has. Whether its looks, physical abilities, or heart. If you think about this scientifically, what makes a person. "Genes" Take this for instance. Remember this is just an example. We breed horses and we show a lot. So this is real serious business. We have a mare that has the sweetest personality and the ability to learn really fast. We also have a stallion that is the same way, but he's a little fiery and he's huge and has the heart to face any obstacle thrown his way. Now we have been breeding the two for the past three years. The first year we got a lil filly. Body like her dad and personality like her mom. The third year we got a lil colt. Personality like his dady and body like his momma. Now the third year. We got a filly with the body like her daddy and a personality of her mom and dad. If you think about it wouldn't genes have an effect on how an animal thinks, or what its physical appearance is. I've done a lot of reading on geneology. And genes pretty much make up everything. I believe that even if you have a dog or horse or any other animal with the best pedigree, it all depends on how their genes get passed through to their children. All of the pups are not going to have the best genes, but there is a least one or two that will. And if it doesn't happen with the first litter, it could happen with the second or the third maybe. Genes are an amazing thing and are very tricky because you never know how they will get passed. Try checking out some geneology books and and study real deep in themand you'll see where I get my opinion from. I'm not here to put down anyone like 'ol boy did, I just love a good debate.:)

Oh and why does it matter how many dogs we have bred? lol. I don't think anyone in here is trying to run a puppy mill. lol. Its all about quality not quantity. Thats the first rule of business anyone should know. Anyone else agree with me on that one? Hell I haven't bred any pitbulls but I understand what the hell is going on. lol...

Oh and another thing. I was wondering Onac(is that how you spell it). Did you just wake up one day and know what you know about pitbulls or bull dogs. NO no one does and no one ever will just wake up and know everything or any information. Breeding is nothing but trial an error. Do you get the results you want through every breeding that you have? NO no one does and no one will. There is always some radical thrown in there. Ok I'm done. I just hate it when people try to make others seem small just because they feel they know it all.

    Inform don't criticize.

I've never bred dogs before so I'm on the outside looking in on this one. But they way i see it, if genes have nothing to do with gameness.....why are you breeding for it?

We breed for gameness, because its the TRAIT (notice I didn't say gene) that seperates this breed for any other breed out there. Its the trait that we all thrive for hoping that our dogs will stay straight forward and continue no matter what obstacles they are facing.

I understand what you are saying, but aren;t traits controlled by genes. Genes control the body as a whole, whether its looks, drive as a whole. oh well I give up. Nice debate though.

Genes, DNA make up, do contribute to certain traits...I cannot argue with that. It is still my opinion however, that "Gameness" is NOT a "gene". Gameness in a dog, is, you either have it or your don't, you're either game or your not. Some argue that there are levels of gameness, in that respect, that would mean there is also levels of "curness"??? To me you are either a cur or you are game, there is no inbetween. If gameness was a gene, more dogs would be "Dead Game" or "Deep Game". And in return, we wouldn't have to cull our yards the way we do. But as it stands now, by not culling our yards of the curs, we hurt our chosen bloodlines and the percents of "game" dogs go down, now if that was a "gene" that would not be so, as a gene is always there...
