Help With Raw!!!

Hello every one i was looking for some good food for my Apbt's and im going with raw and this is the MENU
chicken necks.
cow liver.
cow heart.
ground beef.
apples,blueberrys,sweet potatoes,alfalfa,salmon oil,broccili and carrots..Ohhh ohhh green tripe is my menu missing i need your opinion

The menu looks pretty good but also overwhelming if you are just starting. Foods need to be introduced gradually so as not to upset the stomach so much. Why don't you do a search on raw diets and dog food on the forum. There have been so many posts on this topic and some in great detail. I'm sure you will find a lot of information. It's a great way to feed your dog BTW. Good Luck.

Thanks chinasmom i did switch the food little by little and i have been reading some threads but not alot of them say what they feed i did some research and thats how im feeding but i would really like the opinion of some people theat feed raw food, hands on people thanks for your help..

 

Lol. That's ok and I DO feed raw. My guys have been on it for a while now.

I know you do chinasmom i read some of your threads and replys and you said it is overwelming what do you think i should cut down on and what should i add if you want to tell me your secrets it would be between you and me i won't tell lol :p

 

You need more muscle meat. Chicken quarters are better than necks.

 

I mainly feed this...

For meat:
Chicken quarters
Mackeral
Tuna
Ground Beef
Ground Turkey with a Turkey neck


For organs:
Liver
Kidney
Intestine
Gizzards
Heart

I don't really do veggies, but sometimes they will get some kale or spinach.


And I will be adding rabbit soon

 

The overwhelming was meant if you were just starting your dog on raw. Like I said, in that case, start out slow, one thing at a time. But if you are already feeding raw, then your dog has probably adjusted. I was trying to find my original recipe I started out with, but can't and I have adjusted it since then. This is what I am doing now, as my availabilty in meat
changes.

Chicken backs and cubed deer alternating every day.
Ckicken liver twice a week.
One egg twice a week
Fish on Sunday.
Flax seed oil.
Vegetable patties which consist of carrots, pumpkin, squash and spinach.
I lightly steam the the carrots and blend all the veggies with the carrot water. Shape into 2 ounce patty's and freeze. I give them one four times a week.
My diet is always changing depending on the availibility but stays pretty much the same. In the summer I swap pumpkin for watermelon. They also get yogart occasionally.

 

Found my original diet. As you can see it has changed a lot. I still do some celery and garlic though.

Hey guys & gals how are ya? I'm also very interested in starting the raw way... Im trying to also figure out what the dollar differences are gonna be. Octavio we are relatively close so I don't think that the meat prices are gonna be too different. So please help me out also....Thanks.
