I would like to know whats the best way to get my pits coat smooth and shiny??? he ate natural balance when he was a puppy, the venison and sweet potato formula, and now im feeding him beneful and i buy evo wet food and mix it with that. Sometimes i cook for him and i just do rice and ground beef with vegetables, or rice with eggs and turkey.

Somebody told me that putting olive oil in their skin might help his coat so i do it once in a while. I also bathe him with oatmeal shampoo and conditioner.

But somehow his coat is still rough, i dont know if thats just his coat or if it can be softer....

Samon Oil does wonders for a dogs coat. Get the gel capsules and poke a hole and squeese 1 or 2 over there food daily.

I will use a raw egg mixed through a normal feed from time to time, just stay away from the back end of your dog for a few hours.

I also let the dog lick the end of the butter when there next to nothing left in it.

Not exactly scientific but there cheap and easy to put your hands on, just dont go OTT on it, it will take time

I would rather cook my eggs before feeding. Less chances of stomach upset.

Another point, have you done a thorough worming? Tapeworms will take away from a dogs coat. I guess any worms could, but esp. tapeworms.

I have never read about it on here but I know of a obed. club that feeds Blackwood dog food and their dogs coats are very slick and shiny. We feed TOTW and our dogs coats look good too. Your kibble is decent though and your supplements seem to be adequate.

A teaspoon of oil on the kibble every other day or so works very well too.

Salmon oil is good but KELP makes it all the better. Its usually cheap but a little hard to find.

Kelp is a great suggestion as well, as long as your dog isn't allergic to it. My girl Venus was although she could have the Solid Gold Seameal, but she reacted to the UltraKelp. I got a kelp product once that was WICKED! The best I had ever tried and of course the store stopped carrying it and doesn't even remember the name. All I remember was the label was very badly translated to English. I think it was a product from Norway. I keep kickin' myself for not writing down the name! lol My dogs just GLEEMED on it though!

I give my dog "missing link". And I believe it helps with his shinny coat.

Here are two pics of my dog, so you can see how shinny his coat is...

The best and easiest meathod right there. All you need is a cap full.
