I have an 11 mth old female "Roxy", currently her head is only about 15in. she's registered and both her mom and dad have bigger heads. mom's head is about 21 and dads is 23 1/2. mom weighed in at about 75 lbs and dad at about 85-90. what do you think her size will be? her feet are bigger than both her mom and dad, she already weighs 70 lbs, but her head is just small, i don't know why? is there any kind of exercise or supplement to give her to increase her head size, i don't think it's going to grow anymore, she was a fast maturer. please let me know. i have had pits since i was born and never seen anything like this, plus her lines are jeep and gator. any info appreciated. thanks.

All pits don't have large heads, so dont worry about it. Since she is only 11 mos old she will continue to grow, I have had dogs that did not fill out untill after they were 2 years old.Just take good care of her and she will be fine.

No Rebel is 2 years old, she is the same color but Rebel Does not have as much white. They are related back in their lines though. I will post pictures of Rebel and Hitler soon. And i will post a pic of this 11 mth old female "roxy" in just a second.

Yeah I guess i'm just a little worried, i'm used to having pits with more noticable heads, I guess time will tell though, her body is huge compared to her head.

  12. Well my male got 23 inches in head, my female 18 1/2, but everybody tells me she's got such a huge head.
First they are different in shape and then she's got a white head, which makes it seem bigger.
BUT pits aren't about heads. Whoever put that into descriptions of dogs should be shot! Bigger heads are JUST for the look and in reality oversized heads can cause anatomical problems for dogs...
Just surf the net for less stockier pits and you'll see your dog looks perfectly normal. For example www.dunkelkennels.com will help you a lot.
I own one that only few people recognize as pure bred as media only shows you the stockier, bullier ones. My male is alwas seen as sweet and cute and my female always as looking dangerours. But she knows no evil, got no problems with dogs or people, he chooses the dogs he likes himself, females mostly no problems but male ones can be problematic to say the least.
Oh, and both dogs by same father. It's funny his parents were pretty short and really wide and he got tall, less wide. Her mum is also taller, less wide, more athletic and she'll be -fully grown- be as wide as her dad.
And yes, some pits need a lot of time until they've fully matured. Some need 2 or more years.
Well remember pitbulls AREN'T about head size!!!
