Greetings all, so I'm back in, loving all the readings on here. Feels like a little slice of heaven. I was anot eager young guy back in 2001-2003, was on gamedogs.com back then, reading pedigrees, bought all the Jessup books and the Colby book. Made friends back then, friended a man from Tennessee, never knew his real name, he never knew mine, but we exchanged e mails for about 7 months, then I finally got the courage to ask about a pup. He said he had one male from a litter that was being killed by the mom, said I could buy him, no papers, no breeding rights, I said tell me where to send the money. Three weeks later I was at the airport picking up my male. Jump 10 months ahead from that, I sent him an email mail of Brutus pulling 900 pounds at 67 pounds, he simply replied, "Congratulations, you have a redboy/jocko dog." He was suprised that Brutus pulled weight, as he gave me no guarantees on anything. I rolled him I to two hogs, muzzled, (try not to be too harsh, I was pretty green but humble and eager to learn), he didn't turn in both rolls, first was 20 min, second went about 40 min with Brutus still wanting it, so at that point I lived in Portland and didn't know anyone in the area, so I decided to just have him as a family dog, knowing he'd possessed an eagerness to go, and that was good enough for me, at the time. We had quite a few situations with other dumb dog owners letting their dogs run loose, and stupidly crossing paths with Brutus, he always left with them learning a lesson, lol. So here I am, Brutus passed away, and I'm eager, older, and a lot more patient, looking to get into another dog, and see where it takes me, but holy cow, there are a lot of new names to read about........so, here we go, hahahaha. Thanks to anyone that takes the time to read this and reply, this forum will quickly become my second home again, cheers, and look forward to the future!!!
