breeding of mouth is just plain Stupid. Game dog with out gameness first is like being a one pump chump! ask any female would they like a one min. Man or a 3 hour man!

i can believe this thread has went 3 pages long...this is Game-Dog.com, right? ill put it like this...suppose you have a real hard mouthed dog that can bite a hog in half, but curs out when the going gets rough. is that one you wanna breed, or are you gonna breed the dog with the average mouth but will take on a mac truck by the front bumper thinkin hes winnin the whole time?

What else are you breeding for? To collect dogs? lol..

    Gimme MOUTH!

It doesn't matter if I have a tail tucking, wall jumping, 10 min rank cur if your dog is dead before it happens.

I prefer a game dog that thinks well over a dog with a heavy mouth and no gameness. U cant always chew yourself out of trouble.

it doesnt matter hw hard your dog bites when he gets frustrated/gassed and the game dog POURS IT ON! hard biter meets smart dog, hard mouth gets frustrated cuz he aint got skills, just the ability to close his mouth

Gameness vs Mouth is like Ali vs Foreman it doesnt matter how u hit if u cant land a punch. Same principal with bulldawgs. Gameness is the key, heavy mouth is a crow bar.

it's sad to see a deep game dog with no mouth get dominated by a rough dog which is always on top. he is losing inch by inch because his opponent isn't feeling any pressure.

Some say Zebo was likely a cur, but his hard mouth tended to stop everybody before it came to deep gameness. his bloodlines didn't produce like some others.

But a deep game dog with a hard bite only needs half his teeth to win most of the time. These are once in a lifetime dogs for most people. mcmahan's Arkansas was one of these dogs.

It seems like most people here think game = skill.

And it doesn't matter how smart or game your dog is when it's getting killed....

Go ahead and keep a yard full of super game dogs. If they ain't winning, it don't matter.

so what happens when your super hard mouthed wall jumper meets an exceptional mouthed but super game bulldog? what will happen when that match goes beyond an hour? and then hard bites dont deterr the bulldog. then what?

i see what folks are saying, u remember buster douglas and mike tyson?

sure mike tyson is a SUPER HARD MOUTH that punished badly........in the first 2 rounds.
nobody expectted him to go beyond the first round tho because after that he was winded, frusterated, & overwhelmed.

so i see what your gettin at with the punishing 30 min dogs, BUT id rather have the exceptional biting dog thats prepared to go the distance if need be!

but everybody likes to see a tyson fight!! lol

I agree, if u r lucky enough to win with a heavy mouth cur dont think u r lucky enough to keep winning like that.

Between the two choice given, Dog A hardly sounds like a rough mouthed cur. Its actually the more balanced of the two and Dog B doesn't have much of an advantage in the game department. Now maybe dog B can go an extra 30minutes but with a 4:4 Game/Mouth ratio vs 5:2 I don't think dog B makes it very long

I think we all got caught up in debate that we forgot to refer back to the OP which was:

Say you have 2 dogs and we are rating them on a scale of 1-5
    Dog A: Game=4 Mouth =4
    Dog B: Game=5 Mouth =2
Which dog would you rather have?

According to the scale, it would suggest that Dog A is Deep Game and Dog B is Dead Game. Both dogs are definitely fine specimens. I would be honored to have either dog in my yard. With that said, according to the OP, we can assume now that:

Dog A is not a 30 minute cur but more of a 2 Hour Monster who will punish his opponent for a long time. However after a while (a long ass while at that) if his opponent is still coming back for more, me may just decide to call it a day. On the other hand, Dog B is Dead Game scrapper. If Fight he must, he will do so till he can no longer move.

Those are some damn fine bulldogs if you ask me. Choosing between them is hard but it depends what your ultimate goal is. If you want to win a high percentage of matches then pick DOG A. If you want to start a breeding program to preserve a f***in damn hard quality, DOG B is a perfect foundation stud. IMO, "bet the yard" on Dog A, but "Build the Yard" with Dog B. I personally would like to build a yard with Dog B.
