Theres a few mag's out,Grit an Steel also the Game Cock. You will find some good breeders in them,if your from down south you should not have a problem obtaining some good fowl, there good breeders in the north also. The Asian's are mostly into the bladed gaffs, latains naked heal or postiza in the US they use a rounded gaff.Tape or the Dora Dizia is used by the Indian's,some will take their cocks and place them in a basket with just their heads out an let them pack each other these matches can go on for days.

A buddy I had a while back (RIP) had some nice birds. I never got into them much myself but I thought they were funny. He had se little sparing gloves for em. They never stayed on though. I never asked him too many questions about em cause it wasn't my thing. I do find their determination intriguing.

I had a sumatra once named Rasta with two spurs on each foot, and he was very tame. He would follow me around and jump in my lap. He hated other roosters, but he'd run from a bad one. I sold Rasta to a mexican for $2 and he most likely was eaten

Game birds are crazy animals. Not to long (I say that being 22 lol) it was legal in Oklahoma to match them and I remember some old guys in a small town talking about some big show and a lot of money was going to be involved. Crazy that people would bet on a chicken! lol Now it's over with though and can't do that...
Nice birds though, you can see the blue barrels all over the place in Oklahoma. There everywhere. Saw a guy who had them set up on a run like a dog...pretty funny if ask me.

I imagine a natural spur match would last much longer than with blades/gaffs. Seems like with natural spurs you would need birds that are all heart- and blades etc rely more on the birds style and technique with less heart needed due to the shorter matches???
    ^all speculation, just curious

Ive heard the gaff will last a long time and check a birds heart.

how i see blades, it just all by luck.50/50 The bird dont do anything but jump kick a couple of times then the other dies any style can win. A lucky kick from a cur can just kill a ace. Now if it was with out blades the ace will win for sure. Aces would adapt to any style the other brings to it. Loser of a style (which we call SIN) will be wide open for hits. (some birds have hard kicks the can kill a bird and some are just average) (just like some dogs have hard mouth and some dont, its like the same thing)
