It's a crying shame that traditional activities like raising game cocks and bulldogs have become illegal. We need these activities in order to properly test and preserve our lines. I was raised with these animals and activities as a big part of my youth. I remember my uncle gave me my first game cock when I was 15, after about 4 years of pestering my dad and grandfather lol.

Yes it is a shame XLR8. There are people still checking their stock out regardless of the law.

mudville monsta, they are not the same but similar. Most Hmongs have crossed roosters. some with great results and some not so great.

When it comes to the law you get more time for dog fighting and you do for Cockfighting or at least around here I'm at.

XLR8 thanks for the clear up.

I used to live by Hmongs & they all had their roosters. I wonder if they were to go public with their sport, could it ever be legal. Of coarse the gambling will be the first thing the Government will be cracking down on. Most likely using the Animals welfare as their excuse. My observation of this comes from personal knowledge, their birds are put in keep, fed top diets, sparred, and have a long lasting The one thing that differs their sport from other game fowl events is the absence of blades. Theses birds basically Box or Kickbox LOL. Never have I seen one die from the fight. But they do make good soup. LMAO!

Asils are very similar to Thai Games. I do find Thai Games to run a little smaller but not by much. Very hardy and easy to keep.

Use to own and bred them when I lived in Cali 20+ years ago.

And I've never seen one die during a Naked Heel match.

Still legal in Louisiana as for as I know. These is a couple of people in a 15 mile range from that raise them and they are nice looking.

OHH, So Asils are bigger than Thai roosters. Damn those are some big birds. I thought the Thai roosters were big. Before 8yrs ago I'd never seen anything other than an egg layer or regular game fowl.

The Asils that I've seen were thicker and stockier. Weighed just a little heavier. A few pounds more than the Thais that I had.

There are a few different varieties of Asils. So yes, some Thai Games can be larger than the smaller Asils.

I've seen fights years back where they put "muffs" that looked like boxing gloves taped over the spurs and fought "Asian" birds. Why would that be illegal if the birds don't get hurt? Any states where it would be legal?
