Ok -raises hand- marijuana didn't lead me to any so I guess I'm one in the handful.

My sister was a speed/meth head for 5 years. She was fairly happy to sit in her house and tweak and be happy and paranoid all by herself. People who commit violent crimes may be pushed over the edge by severe drug use but usually they were pretty crazy before hand. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, i'm just saying that is one big generalization to say anyone who EVER does marijuana will do harder drugs. As well as anyone who does hard drugs will commit a violent crime. Sure it happens, but that's life.

point is legalization and taxation of marijuana would help pay for nationalized health care...

You know that might be true if I didn't shell out $20k to make bail (which the government kept ) and on top of that I sheld out another $20k in fines and restitution. According to my number crunching that is $40k the government got from me for my incident.( 6 months )....we are not even in my book, they owe me $30k. Since then I shell out annually at the end of the year anywhere from $10-$15k in taxes on top of what they take out of me every week. So do I feel sorry for those who can't or choose not to provide for themselves ? You bet your ass I don't, I pay more than my fair share of taxes and tow the line for all those slugs who choose to sit on thier ass with thier hands out while I wake up and bust my ass at work. The point I was making which seems to escape some of you is that I did not let the government keep me down...I went out and busted my ass to be a productive member of society, if I can do it then alot of these other people can do it too, and that is my point. Forgive me for not feeling sorry for whiners....no one was crying for me, no one was giving me anything so I took it apon myself to control my life and continue to strive for success like it should be, and you want me to feel guilty for that ? GTFO

There is hardly any reason why half these recipients can't work other than they don't want to. Why should the rest of us be asked to sacrifice more for those who choose to do nothing to better thier situation ? I pay for my health insurance, do I like paying it ? No I do not however I will gladly keep paying it if it means that healthcare remains private as it should be.

Have you ever noticed who frequints the doctors office the most ? Its not the working man/woman thats for damn sure...its the people who have nothing better to do with thier day than to go to the doctors and seek out drugs...what do they care..they ain't paying for it...how crowded do you think the hospitals are going to get once is socialized ? Every Tom Dick and Harry will be there with hang nails if it ever gets socialized, count on that. I do not want my healthcare compromised and seeing how people like me will be footing the bill I would expect to get my moneys worth for my needs not yours or anyone elses.

to an extent i agree with what you say, i guess its how derogatoaly you put things, there are so many peices of crap that milk the system...it needs restrutured... i just feel that every human deserves adequeate health care...it takes hard work and dedication to become successful in life but alot of what allows som many people to succeed in our country is its institutions and when i become a wealth prominent businessman ill hopefull remember there is more to life than my own interests (pocketbook)

If the system was to do its job the way it was intended then I wouldn't have a problem seeing my money go in that direction however when people are born into the system and remian in the system ? I feel for those who work or have worked and fall on hard times....I am not a complete ass about that, those people I do feel for but to the ones who do nothing have earned nothing so...."F" them. The only nationalized system I would support is a hysterectomy program or a tubulargation proceedure for all welfare moms who choose to stay on the system.

My sister was on a program called TANF. She had to go to school, get her GED and than prove that she was looking for a job, they trained her to be a CNA and she got nursing home jobs. Her babies dad was supposed to pay back the state for all of the money that went out to my sister. He was in prison and is again. From what I've heard there is a 5 year cap for welfare or TANF if it's the same thing. You can only be on it 5 years of your life.. on or off. After your time is up, its up. My sister no longer gets this assistance. It really isn't easy to get assistance like food stamps or welfare. And yeah a whole 200 bucks a month in food stamps is really making a person eat better than people who can afford groceries. I don't think so.. we live off boxed meals, frozen meals, and occasionally we make some homemade chicken or hamburgers. We sure ain't eatin steaks and shrimp.

If you missed this on the first page... it was the first thing I had to say about it.
I agree that non violent people with a little pot on them is ridiculous. Cops setting people up.. for drug deals and undercover stuff to put people in jail. Stoners are the least of our worries. Ever heard of someone killing someone while on weed? Keep the bad drugs illegal and send people blowing up meth labs and making meth in prison. These are the drugs that need to be CONTROLLED.

If I could thank ya twice, I would. ;)

LMAO  Man ... You have NO CLUE. You obviously listened to much to the DARE officer in 5th grade.

Weed don't lead to harder drugs... it's not addictive.. maybe psychological or is made a habit.. but if you stop smoking, theres no withdrawls. Tobacco and alcohol are far more addictive and kill thousands a year. When did you hear of someone dying who only smoked weed. Sorry your "fact's" are inconclusive. Do you believe all those BS ad's on tv about living "above the influence." Go watch reefer madness with all your cool straight edge buddies and talk about how awesome you all are for being "high on life"

Not to mention how much of a remedy it is, and important to medical medicine. People smoke it to ease pain from cancer, there are meds with THC in them to help anorexic people get hungry to eat. It's good for menstural cramps, stomach aches, tooth pain, shoot it actually reduced my fever one night and I wasn't even sick the next morning. Good for nausea too!

Thats not a pro weed site either pal, thats wikipedia.
