Former Long Island Club

Oh hey how's it going? Tri State is having another show in May too. Port is right where NY, NJ, & PA is about 85 miles north west of NYC. That's right, hey it's all good, I have been blessed and have never have a shortage of good homes for his pups. That litter has done real well this past year. If you think you could make it to any meetings send me a pm, we meet about twice a month at a diner in town!

You can have a club, the problem comes down to shows, if there are too many shows in one area, it will make the turn out suffer for both shows. You also need the blessing of any club closer than 300 miles. I guess they also want to drum up support for the existing clubs. I know another club tried, even had a fun show, but never took off. I dont think ppl realize how much work it is to hold shows.

I think that would be a great idea. I mean, sometimes folks might just need to network locally however often to train, etc. It isn't always about holding shows.

 

Sounds like a great idea! Actually, if hosting sanctioned shows are not a priority, there is nothing stopping you from opening a club. Esp if your focus is social networking training, BSL, supporting other show organizers, etc. If you wanted ADBA sanctioning as a separate club, that’s when you would need to follow the steps laid out by the ADBA. Actually, That’s how Tri-State started out, it was a club for many years before it held shows. It even went back to the original Garden State club. So with that, you don’t need anyone’s blessing, just your own local support to get the ball rolling!
