Was wondering how many members here are into the dogs because of some sort of money return may it be breeding, or training, or conditioning dogs for shows for other people or whatever there is. And if there was abosolutly no money to be made and it was just the pure pleasure of that comes from having these dogs homw many of you would say Naw not for me.I need some amount back.

I sold one dog in my life and regret it,,, If I were into matching dogs,, which I am hardly not,,, I would do it for longevity of my line and could care less about how much money is exchanged as money seems to be a big factor in why both sportsmenship and gameness are falling shorter the longer time goes on...

when I start breeding for color I will call them staffs and when I start breeding for money I would cal them...
    profitdogs as opposed to gamedogs...

With that said,,, I would counter it with money makes the world go round and...
alot of bigger names hide behind behind it...

I'd have the dogs even if there was no possibility of money return.

Since moving to the country I have taken up a new hobby. Tractors. Almost no money return as well and I still enjoy it.

Not everything in life is about money, I learned that when I moved out to the country also. My life is much more happy now that I'm not always worried about money.

    Just my worthless .02.

A lot of people do believe it or not. Like I said, everything in life isn't about money. You'll see that one day. Until then, enjoy thinking about a dollar every minute of the day. I've learned to enjoy my days.

    Take care

Yeah for sure wicked i thinks some people enter with that mind frame "buisness". Its one thing if you were doing a master at your hobby and people were like come on please heres the cash but even then real dog men would probably be like naw cause in the back of their heads their thinking with that hobby love head thats says no i dont think you know what this is about or yeah you desreve this dog. Like when a Karate master gives another person a higher belt that individual shows he has good understanding of the task at hand at that degree. Should be like that with DOGMEN. I am white belt

I caught myself on a tractor at work the other day diging a trench,,, and even though I was getting paid,,, I found alot of solitude in a man with his machine and even thought about changing my profession,,,
So I would say until you get to knocking the tractor,,, try digging the earth like a terrier as I see why those little dogs have so much fun in the dirt...

Trees your a guru only they have reached, some born with it to reach that state of mind. They say when you can get so much satisfation for what you are doing the body is not far of from the state of nirvana. If you dont experince these states in your life for what ever reason guilt, greed, poverty, scared to be different you will be unfufilled which is the greatest harm someome could do to themselves. For Nirvana state you have to be in the complete satisfaction state for 1 month no dips or downs and then you will start to feel it come on let me know what its like the dmt running through your bodu will be overwhelming

Much the same here. It is not that I am a big fan of raking shit but that few minutes of the day it is a certain amount of solitude. If that makes sense.

Flirt poling with a young puppy is as entertaining as all get out for me.

Just like most, I have not found the profit in the dogs. Some have. More power to them. No qualms with that either.

No dog matcher myself so there's none to lose or gain. If I made a breeding, I would plan to keep as many as possible. Maybe give away a couple and out of them all focus on the cull process. Even though I paid for all of mine....I choose to because I didn't want strings attached for the free ones...

Even though I love these dogs unfortunately I have sold a pup before. I never thought about this as being wrong....
I don't make it my business to sell dogs but I don't like just giving them away either...unless of course its to the right person by my judgment.....sometimes people really want to buy a pup.

I know plenty that want breed right off but will stud, well what's the difference? Moneys made...

With that being said its just a hobby, I enjoy my mutts, and believe they enjoy me at times.
I don't believe I will ever get my loot back from the dogs, I'm cool as long as there cool.

Thunder someone has to breed and giving a pup to person is like giving a peice of youself away or it should feel that way so you aint just going to give it up like some floosy not the pup anyways. I wouldnt have got my dog if no one gave it to me but it wasnt just like that. Make some good ones thunder and give me one mine is 13 now and still a beast thats how the next one is going to end up too.

It all depends on ones goal is for owning these type of dogs. Most are not in it for the money. Those that do it strictly for the money are usually doing it legally by having a legal Puppy Peddling business like T.G. LOL.

For those that are not doing it for the money the profit return on these dogs is so minimal its hard just to break even or make ends meet let alone make any sort of real profit.....The misconception of the average dog men making a lot of (profit) money on these dogs is a myth made up by all those Animal Rights Activist to further there own agenda. These dogs dont even make up 1% profit, compared to what DRUGS make with there profits. It seems like dogs are targeted way more then drugs. Which one actually affects society more , drugs or dogs? My guess would be drugs LMAO. Did yawl know that more then 10 children go missing every single day world wide? In one years time that is more then 4000 children missing world wide. Yet the goberments spent all there man power looking for 1 dog fighter and forget the 4000 missing children every year LMAO. I guess the goberment just views all those missing children as a form of over population control LMAO.

This is the truth right here. The people who get into the dogs for money reasons find out real fast it costs more to raise litters than your return from selling them will be. They fizzle out in the dogs pretty fast. It's a backwards buisness. I do sell pups here and there, some say I peddle others dont, just another label in the dogs really. People acting like selling a dog is a bad thing. 99% of yous, myself included wouldn't even have these dogs unless someone sold you one so I feel most are full of shit when it comes to living in reality. Lol. Most every penny I make off selling one or 2 goes right back into my dogs whether it be feed, vet care or just to cover costs of a future breeding or the unexpected happends and you now need to pay a vet a small fortune. There is no money to be had in breeding dogs unless you can sling them like the garners of the world and even then, best believe their overhead costs are up there. The money is in matching them. Which also costs alot to do and you only have a 50/50 chance of recouping any money at all.
I used to get pretty mad when someone would call me a peddler then I grew up and realized fuck them, you don't feed me, my dogs or pay any of our bills so who the fuck cares what you think. Lol that person I sold a pup to is most times extremely thankful that I did. In a perfect world I would keep everything however most do not have that kind of space to house that many dogs so putting them with others is a part of the process in the hopes these people will do right with the dog. You name a famous dogman that refused to sell you a dog and I will name you 5 who would.

My biggest question for folks these days on the issue of peddling is why does it matter to you what someone else does with their dogs?

When you see the problem with that question you will truly be free and your eyes fully opened.......

Many good high dollar dogs have come from the yards of peddlers and many rank ass curs have come from kennels who refused to sell so what difference does it really make in your idividual lives what someone else does with their dogs they have invested in....
