Finding a home...

  1. I do not know if this was the proper place to put this thread, but I need to blow off some steam... I do not know where everyone is from on this thread or what the laws are in your state.. I live in California and have been searching for a new place to live.. I rent a house now with a huge yard, but the owners what to come back so we have to move out.... I cannot afford a whole lot, so I have been looking at Apartments.... It is so flipping difficult with a pit bull, I thought since she is small or small compared to the hippos cali people love they wouldn't say much.... All the places I have looked at ask for a pet interview, just wanted to see if anyone has had the same problems or any adivice on what to do... I have looked at renting a house, but most of the rentals are the same with the breed restriction...

why don't u just buy, nobody can say a damn thing if u own the house. If money's an issue move down south, it would cost u a lot less to live compared to cali

  4. I would really love to buy a house but for right now that is not an option money wise, yes I could relocate and will most likely in a year when I plan on buying a house... The market here has dropped but not enough, a decent house in $300,000.

With all the bad laws springing out of CA, I'd be booking it out of there. But I know how hard it can be to move out-of-state, particularly if you know nothing about where you're moving to, or if all your family is where you're at. Good luck. Hope you find something.

300k for a decent house??? Jesus man, I always heard cali was bad but I had no idea. Im in Fla and you can find a really nice house here for around 140k in a neighborhood. Acreage is a different story. Good luck!

I dont know exactly what your situation is but if you get renters insurance with a liability on your dog most renters will consider you as opposed to not having it. It will cost you around 80 dollars every 3 months. Its just something to consider.

  8. Oh that is intresting about renters insurance thank you for the advice.... I appriciate all of your comments... Yea CA is rediculous and I am looking to get out but like said above this is all I know and where my whole family is from.... I do not like it here though.... Always trying to keep up with the jones's you know...

Well thank you again... I think we might have found a place... My bestfriends husband is in the Navy and is off to Fla for dive school, so he asked us to move in to keep her company, they do not have a strict policy on dogs and I just told them she was a boxer/terrier mutt.... Hopefully it goes smoothly... I will keep you all updated...
    Thank you again...

Before I bought my home, I was renting in socal and took me one day to find a nice house that would let me keep my dogs. I kept two at my house without incident or problem.

The owner sold the house and I found another house within a few days that also had no problem with my dogs.

I offered to get my own pet insurance, I think I got it from Geiko, they dont care what kind of dog you have either

theyre out there, you have to keep looking and have a bit of luck I guess

Tell them your dog is a Boxer. Many gamedogs can pass off as another breed, Boxer is a good bet

  10. Thanks a bunch again... Boxer I think I will stick with.....
