  1. I am hoping to get some light on feeding a pup to a 2 year old
I've also read to feed to about as much as a pup can eat
I do have a BD pup

Ideally you want a bit of "chub" on any young puppy. That is best imo because if a pup gets sick you have a small window of reserved as they burn fuel fast!

When they reach 6-8 months a fit and thick weight to me is also ideal. Not fat but not lean. As they get to 1 1/2 -2 they should be leaning out on their own and should carry less fat and more lean muscle.

I like em fluffy up until 4-6 months then i like a slight tuck there after. After about 1 year old they fill out naturally and i just help that along with a slight tuck until 16 to 18 months, i like em a few pounds over show weight. This is gonna depend on how you keep your dogs and weather too and how the dogs metabolize. I have a gyp here that just gets fat lol, like easily.. Then i have another bitch here that has always had a tuck and she free feeds.

    3.Raw
I mix it every now and then switch
He was getting way too fat, mostly asleep all the time, so I lessend his food but now seems way too active.
Love his energy the way he is now but 3 cups a food a day vs when I would load up on his bowl with food.

  5. What Pitbulldogs and YellowJohnJocko have just said,is some great advice!.read it.then read again.then read it again.it's very small.but it great advice............personally I would put your pup on a raw diet.no diet can build a pup like a raw diet.no diet can replaced what nature intended.pups thrive of raw food!!!....I have see the best results of feeding pups raw.i.m.o....they have better coats.they have more natural energy.and they have a better zest for life.I no this because I always bring them up on raw.quite simply because I don't like to give young pups cooked food.I think they waste it by shitting more out.(which is not good in pups).I have never seen a pup have loose stools of feeding raw.don't get me wrong I cook a lot for the older dogs.but I try and get the young ones through there first year on raw.it gives them a better immune system.it's not that expensive for one of two dogs either.................good luck!!!!!!!

my personal opinion is that a fat pup is just that , being overweight just puts extra stress on growing organs and bones, i would rather have them on the lean side to overweight and a good barf diet does tend to keep them leaner.

Fat pups are like fat kids. They are cute, because they’re fat. The earlier they get used to smaller meals the better imo

Not sure what people mean by fat ,,but I think pups need a good covering till around a year old or older , not fat where they waddle but not lean like a fit dog ,,the need to be a little chubby to grown properly ...
