I just got a message saying someone is trying to rehome his english pitbull

HA thats funny i once had some kid argue with me that he had German pitbull terriers i was like what they mixed with Shepards or something lol he was like no their full blooded i was like dude there is only one pitbull and thats The American kind whether you got em from another country or not lol!!!

 

Ive heard morons refer to the english bull terrier as the 'english pitbull' before.:rolleyes:

 

ive also heard of uneducated apbt people refer to the rednosed dogs as american and the blacknosed dogs as english ..too funny..kinda ghetto..lol

lmao well im 18 an been into game dogs sense i was 15 ,an at school we always talk about pits.Ill name bloodlines of dogs i liked or had an they be like yea i had an american red nose, or i got a tiger pit an im like lmao its funny.The famous english pit classic lol. Becuase the only bloodline ppl down here that know not much about apbt, seem to have heard of is chinaman, but they probably still dont know what there talkin bout.

 

In the region (Gulf Coast of FL/Lower Alabama) I live in there is a "breed" ( and I use that term loosly) called White English Pit. Never heard of it till I moved down here. Looks like possibly a English Bulldog and APBt mix. Not sure. But there are many in this area.

But also where I live people refer to any APBT, American Bulldog, pit bull, or any mix of those as a bulldog. Just plain bulldog.

 

lol everytime im at the homies house this old man that comes around reffers to am bully's as "english" pitbulls. i just say "yea ok":rolleyes: there aint no arguin with old timers! lol

 

i believe the pit bulls/dogs originate from the british isles used for bull baiting it was many of the Irish who took the dogs over to the stated in the early 1900's if u trace back some the oldest peds u can find, the old colby dogs ect start with english dogs maybe that's why sum old timers still refer to them in this way

 

not even the english call them english pitbulls......so i dont see how a fella in the present day would.....or by your reckoning he would need t be over 100 year old.....lol

 

well if a pit bull means a bull-terrier used in the pit there is such a thing indigenous to england, but it cant be referred to as that for obvious reasons

pit (fights in a pit) bull (has bulldog in it) terrier (has terrier in it) i think it stems from when dogs were types not breeds,
