Yes, I give D Burton “benefit of the doubt,” no “lol”... He bred to a cur. Period! As “in the know”, “deep in the game”, or whatever he was that you would like to call it, are you saying he didn’t know or have ANY CLUE the dog quit before??? You said yourself he didn’t care. About Pit General. IMO!!!! That dog has been gone a loooong time. To keep calling him one of the best of all time with only 2x is disrespectful to all those that PROVED they are in that category. Maybe the best back then... So y’all think there haven’t been better dogs than Pit General? Dogs that went 4x+ and PROVED they were the best? I told you what the man said, he himself never saw Nigger quit. That's a cut and dry answer, no need to question him further or inadvertently call him a liar by re-asking the question all sorts of ways.

Don't put words in my mouth my friend, what I said was he bought a bitch he saw quit and whipped a very good 4xw. Only person I've heard say Nigger quit who actually witnessed it was Randy. Pump your brakes big fella. I said the best pit dog Danny ever saw. And I'd lay my mortgage on the fact that the man has seen and done more than you have. So I respect his opinion on the matter.

 

All I know is a lot of people think Danny saw him quit . But he didn't so that's all either 1 of us know is if you didn't see it who knows .

 

Its clear what both parties said. Danny Burton never say Nigger never quit but said he never "see" him quit.
Dont think anyone can misunderstand that. Mr Fox seen him quit. Dont think theres any misunderstanding there either.
Mr Fox goes on to explain that in hindsight he would breed to Nigger and Bullyson if he could because of the quality match dogs they produced.
So while Nigger quit he did produce. We as doggers claim that a cur shouldnt be bred so if he was in most of our hands he wouldnt get bred. Although history shows he was an excellent producer the reality is most of us would have culled him from our programmes.
Maybe we would be correct to do so. Actually we would be correct to do so. Not all of us have the space to take the chance raising a litter off a known cur. Luckily for Nigger, Scrub, Snooty, Reno, etc someone took the chance to breed to them. Good for the game and the breed. But let it not be an excuse for us to breed to a known cur.
