why is it thought that the only thing an eli dog is good for is mouth

I always thought the eli was crossed with the carver to bring in the gameness
cause the carver already had the mouth just was running low on gas

 

I had a yard full of eli/bullyson dogs and gameness was never a problem

 

its all depends i like eli shit in bits like 25% not pure ill go with the game dog thats not gonna curr before i take a hard mouth curr that quits on top or currs when it gets in trouble but not all eli dogs are like that of course wardog can tell you that

 

I was told the same by old timers it was never a problem\\
