Don't be mislead into thinking the likes of Ch Red Joe & a lot more were bred from pure Irish (supposedly DRS) lines. There is a lot more English KC blood in the dogs from them type of breedings than you would think & im not on about dogs of the 50/60s.
Off the top of my head, the likes of Smiths Red Joe & Red Dart Of Asquith were pure English KC. Both figure strongly in them dogs of the last 20yr. In fact, the lads who were using dogs down from these two & their offspring, also had much more success with the KC dogs. Only difference is,them dogs were'nt sought after anywhere as much as a stafford bred in Ireland.
This is no disrespect to any Irishman,as i believe the best cajun staffords of the past were from over there & without a doubt, also pure KC breeding.
Also it would be wrong of the Englishmen to criticise the Irish for sending falsely pedigree'd & falsely worked dogs over there,as the English duly obliged in carrying on this false pretence & still do,to this day.
Good for the goose............good for the gander.
    Money & ego......................................eh ?

  2. One day a guy named t was at a badger trial.
there was this fat red stafford who was pretty decent on the badger
T walked up to the fella and asked him how his dog was bred
dunno sir but he got the right color dont he
u sure right son he the right color listen buddy let me buy u a good poteen and give u 50 quid for that dog.

the next show T showed up with the same dawg
he now had a pedigree and a name, he called him the dublin red commander
    he a famous dog now

  4. If you are hinting towards how Tony actually got the Red Commando, you're way off target as Tony stole the dog. On boxing day 1977, Tony willingly admitted to this fact and displayed to both Willie and Seamus how he picked the dog up and ran for it.

..."Red commando was said to be stolen from outside a public house in Dublin city centre, and his pedigree changed. The pedigree above is said to be the correct one, as some say he was out of the great ceaser and gracefield kate..."

copied from a publication i read when talking about wolf island girl daughter to red commando.

  6. The correct pedigree of the Red Commando dog was Satan's Son x Battling Duchess. This mating took place before Seamus bought her at 3 years of age when she was still owned by Robert Watts.

Interesting thread, seems as though even those that believe they know the truth dont actually know the truth.....so what hope has anyone else got.....one of two I'd say and Bob being one of them!

  9. Geezer thats why I ended with "u wanna hear more"

Many years ago I also had a discussion on Lofty's Beanie.
I know lofty when he actually had her didnt know how she was bred at all.
In the years after her pedigree changed so often I could not keep count.

Hence when I said to beanieman if he wanted to start over
someone send me a pm with a link of his webpage
when I look at the ped's I wonder how he himself can maintain the dogs are bred the way he states

End of the day though these dogs are way back in the pedigree, it doesnt really matter, its obvious you can trust no one, so many different stories and pedigrees. So only way around it is to breed best to best, or at least worker to worker, and make sure you have seen the dog work with your own eyes.

I could not have put it better myself Matty. Right now most of the peddlers breed dogs solely on myths that are built on myths. If the working type Stafford shall have the slightest chance to survive in the future this needs to stop.

It is ashame though that so many lies are told. Seems to be more confusion on the staffords pedigrees than the pitbulls? I know you do get fake peds with the pits but seems alot of the whole history for these staffords has been lies. Agree with you matty breed best worker to best worker and wait for the results. Can only improve the breed cant it. I thought that should of been done with harpo before he was bred. You cant trust no man when it comes to money im sad to say. There might always be a reason why the dog is actually for sale.

    Hello Historian,

Did you ever hear a rumor about either Judas or a son being blind?
That was many years ago now and it could very well be my memory, but I seem to remember something about it(maybe the son) as I think I was very interested after seeing a picture of him....or some dang thing...my apologies, can't remember...sheesh :dunno:

Judas x Fly never took place, Fly quit into tanimfords in 12 minutes and Judas owner refused to give a breeding.
rumor has it that a son of Judas was used in his place I forgot the name

I know that everyone would like to breed worker to worker to increase the possibilities of getting workers, but over the years it had been proven that they produce shitty dogs as well. so what i get about this psycho and whatever line mentioned is that only good dogs are worthy and would be the only ones entitled to produce shitty dogs and good dogs. shouldn't shitty dogs have the same opportunitty to produce good dogs and the shitty ones as well, after all most good breeders will tell you there's only a 50 to 50 % chance of getting few good dogs out of a litter even breeding best to best.

Its all about consistancy mate. Breed only good dogs and the percentage goes up in a blood line, breed what ever shit you can find and the blood line surely collapses. Thats why most APBT lines are very successfull in the begining, and as time goes by the wrong people start to breed inferior individuals and the percentage goes down until nothing is left.

Now, if someone tells you there is only a 50/50 chance getting any descent offsrping when breeding the best to the best. They are not any good breeders in the first place. True top level breeders, with good integrity, and with good dogs out of consistant breeding will atleast produce 50% show quality dogs in each litter. Breeding good dogs is not a random game which some people seem to believe, its hard work and staying on the right path no mather what. People I consider top notch would cull an entire blood line and start over if it declined to less than 50% usefull animals.

Now, the above is very important when it comes to breeding APBT! Step back and imagine how important it is in the working Stafford where the whole line up is at the ropes, and there is only a handfull of good people involved left! Breeding crap and hoping for random luck will very quickly destroy whats left, and these peddlers are really doing a good job at it!

  19. Hi there......I´m not allways giving a respons to any forum chat......
Things are like this now.....I have female, not so long left now till she will get into heat....when she does she will be mated with a dog by name Devil.
These dogs are both brindle....hot tempered and willing dogs to charge forward.
As the ped is based down fron Russells Ch. Red Joe and this matings ped will look like this:

Unfortanatly Red Joe died some time ago now and trying to keep these Red Strain dogs as pure as possible isn´t that easy today.
In the ped you will allso see Terchas Dilly Daisy wich was a bitch after Sahléns Victor who was a son after Gr Ch Duke X Northford Ruby.
You will see a female by name in the ped as Molly the Ebony Lady and she is the daughter of Russells Ch Red Joe.
You will allso see two good game dogs in the ped as well by name Tercha´s Fearless Jim & Hunne Staff Big Red plus others.
On the ped is also Kandony The Defender & his son West-Ringen´s Bure, these two had their oil checked out as well with very good results.
Tercha´s East End Boy, Bombshell-Bill are allso of the Red Strain Blood as they are from Wildridge Bessie.

This mating will take place under spring time 2010 & we will keep in mind, save most of the pups for ourselves as the parents have a bit of a bad morning temper;)
