There are less than a handfull genuine fanciers of the Staffords out there, the rest just breed pedigrees they know nothing about, or for colour. The few good folks have dogs as good as they get, and their lines are pretty genuine, or atleast as genuine as could be.

But the stuff peddled is just pure crap, and I am amazed of how many paper breeding cunts there are out there, and how easy they sell their dogs with fancy stories and bullshit. I know that genuine guys sometimes have a hard time getting good homes to dogs, or even pass on matings just because they wont be able to keep all and cant find proper buyers for the rest. All this while the market is fludded by pure crap.

In my region I daily hear about third rate crap being imported, the owners think they have really good dogs but are fooled all the way to the bank. All of this while the real stuff that most of them dogs been watered down from is sitting right under their noses but still out of reach for them...

so true, its just as bad in the states with the bulldogs. take a look at the ADBA gazette, nothing but page after page of puppypeddlers.

The progression of possible historical roots using a critical eye and hopefully a decent picture...lol?
    Possibility of error? Substantial!!
Possibility of picking true bred strains and bloodlines by sight...ABSOLUTELY

Here is a random picture selection, matched by similiar coat patterning.
    (top left) Diamond
    (top right)Alvin
    (far right) Joker
    (bottom left(Jim)
    (bottom right(Lily)

first 3 are famous american dogs
the last 2 are English dogs from the '20's...

Does this mean anything.......nope, just food for thought...lol:dogdrink:

PS. Here is a picture taken on the Shannon River in Ireland (Possibly the 80's)of 2 dogs that I believe to be closer to the Irish red strain(not to be confused with the IRS...lol) imported by Corcoran somewhere around the turn of the century...

    Does this mean anything?
    Nope...but ain't it fun...:D

...and last but not least....a picture of the Dublin Red Strain after many years of inbreeding...

i was visited by a friend recently and he brought along his stafford bitch by Ch RB, when another friend who i had not seen for a long while came round, he used to be into the dogs but family commitments meant he is no longer involved, this fella could not believe the little bitch in front of him and said "its like stepping back in time, that is what a stafford should look like, i need to get a nother one now i've seen that" he went on to say if this one was ever bred he wanted one as he has been down the DRS/flynn/Psycho road and always been disappointed, i asked why he thought the dogs never measured up and he answered "none of em are bred like they tell you". i think choosing the people behind making the breedings is just as important as the dogs themselves in many cases.

is that a pic of colby's paddy?

Yes Ben....but the female Paddy....there was a male of same name, same line...just another one of the elusive 'can't remember exactly' paperwork errors as dogs change hands and their lineage becomes a mystery...(for good reason)
I learned real early, being lucky enough to have a mentor, that anything that surrounds something successful has to be earned

"i remember a little voice in the background saying...I spent all my life working with the dogs and when someone walks in and expects to get my life's work for no work, just money..does'nt happen that way, they pay for the product I produce but have to work for the instruction sheet"

I understood what you were saying and am not at all in disagreement...the dog I refer to is Charlie Lloyd's Paddy...and correct me if I'm wrong, imported a little earlier?
I believe this dog was successful enough for them to go and buy everything from this blood.

    regards

    Ok so crap first class.
I do not know about those other 2 dogs and there peds beeing changed.
When i first learnt him, he only had Droopy in is house.
My first bitch was out of judas x fly.
Then the former owner of judas told me that the breeding were fly was out never took place ;) beanie x pilot.
But the owner of beanie tells me it did and that he has pics and everything from that.
My bitch was bred by R in rotterdam when he had fly and her sister.
On the legal papers his name is on it and D from the FFB said he had fly and her sister in that time and that he had bred fly in that time with judas.
Now i also know why he was suprised by the inbreeding i did to Droopy.
To bad it takes so many years and time to figure things out and to bad that some had made it in to a kindergarden game.
Wel he said, she said bla bla bla.
And were did it end, in dogs that quit don't even start up or have bad air and run out and almost everybody has crap and are stil bragging about there dogs.

somewhere i've read the better dogs had been scratchers and not the winners, to a certain extent i do agree with this statement as many winners werent proven in real good matches or against good scratchers, dont quote me as i didnt match any dogs, but that's what i hear. so i wouldnt mind feeding a non quitter myself (for legal puroses, hunts, etc...).
I've seen pits from good lines quitting on a cat and other vermin and people are still buying dogs off this particular dog just because the dog is from "hardmouth" ampits.
A pedigree doesnt dictate what your dog is going to be, but hell give you a better idea of what to stay away from or what to add on or double up on, as you breed etc...

  18. Sorry to burst your bubble beanieman

Judas x Fly never took place, Fly quit into tanimfords in 12 minutes and Judas owner refused to give a breeding.
rumor has it that a son of Judas was used in his place I forgot the name.
the pups as I recalled looked completely different than what judas normally puts on the ground, very terrier type with a bullterrier type head.
droopy was a low quality dog with bad air , most if not all his littermates quit.
Most if not all the littermates to fly quit.
3 brothers quit on the same when they were rolled back to back into the judas dog

talk to old people who were around they will tell u the same.
I know there are others on this forum who can what I stated is the truth

You're not bursting my bubbles ;) bulldoghistorian.
    Just history lessons !
But to me it seems that everybody since the 80's lied about the breeding.
So no wonder there are hardly any good staffords around regarding there breeding.
The more i learn about the netherlands and there dogman, the more i think they are a joke, at least the ones i encountered and am learning about.
Tell lies, forging paper, breeding curs so others continue on that.
Making ch and gr ch by selecting/ putting them against rubbish.
To bad it happend and wil continue.
At least for the people who did indeed started with good intentions for the breed.
And to the other old timers, wel i'm not pushing or questioning to much because, i do not like that.
I said it before if a certain trade is lost, people should accept it.
And if you stil want to breed these stafford make sure that they stay the original shape instead of those big overseized bullies.
    Stop bragging about the dogs.
If it happend it happend so not, wel it just didn't and you do not have game dogs if it's gone.

  20. To bad it happend and wil continue.

there is were u come in beanieman
now in order to pass judgement on those who went before u , its now time for u to pick up the glove
how many litters have u bred of untested dogs
are u willing to change that attitude
are u prepared to look into your yard and say the buck stops here and get rid of the crap and become a dogger

or will u just like the rest crawl back into curdom and keep on breeding crap and tell psycho stories to the buyers

the scratchline is before u will u cross or jump the pit
