Hats off the the old school "peddlers". If not for Carver and the rest, the true APBT would be even more endangered! Sure, you may not know the exact recipe, however the dogs were always bred to make a better Bull Dog. They were not bred just for money, for a big head, etc.

 

I disagree. Things in life come up and help the man to be larger than just one individual. Woods, Carver, Crenshaw, Sorrells, on and on. Sure they are "just people". They are American who served in the armed forces, ect.

However because of their calling, their dedication and their time, they have become part of history. Some breeders, like some athletes, will live on forever! We owe the people and the dogs who helped to create, or preserve the APBT a hero's "Thank You!"

How do I know, because the old timers matched dogs, etc. Now they are way people friendly, heal fast and are almost bullet proof. How many people would risk there life for the dog I sold them, I would guess 9/10.

What Lakewood is saying in a nutshell is yes guys like Carver,Mayfield and a lot of others have contributed to the dogs.But because they have contributed so much to the dogs doesn't make them good people or honest people.Some of the so called greats stole dogs and cheated in matches in anyway they could.I find it funny when guys talk about dogmen from the past like they knew them and then you find out they wasn't even born when the dogmen was around.
