I was just wondering what would it take for folks from this forum to get together and do like a fun show weight pull cook out ect.. I feel if everyone was to bring something to the table something can end up getting simi organized in south Carolina north Carolina already has events but It would be nice to get something going in south Carolina others of course would be welcome but I feel SC should get something off the ground if in anyway interested just post ideas or what you think would be a good area just thought of this because of how the coon festival turned out in orangburge but that was something that started off small and now has good turn outs

We have been hoping to get the Palmetto State APBT CLub (ADBA) to start hosting shows in SC. We had one show in Spartanburg in the spring of 2008. That was the only ADBA show in SC. Though since I have heard that area has made laws against Weightpulls so we will not be holding any more pulls there.

I know the club will have a spring show this year it would be great if it could be held in SC.

I was going to suggest a fair ground but finding an open minded county that is willing to host it maybe hard. Maybe someone with some land in the area would being willing to allow it to happen on their land? Just to see how it would start out. I would come to it

what could a law against weight pulling be for? is it for the activity or just bulldog type dogs arent allowed to do it?

probably both they. they probably associate it with some type of dog fighting training program. that's sad to hear about. i plan on doing the weight pull events this year. it will be my first time participating in them. just another blow to law abiding citizens in that area.

They hold big bully shows in spartanburg off hwy 101,but its in someones front yard on about 40 acres.I got tricked into going there once but i didn't see any weight pulling, however there were a couple cops walking around looking real hard for any sign of anything to harass someone about.

Hypothetically speaking, what would they say if they see my dog there with scars? He is a rescue dog and I was told the scars are from a fence or when he was abused???

They came up quick, and were walking around around in a rush scanning the area, almost like they thought they were gonna catch someone fighting them right then and there. After they did a quick walk through, they walked around slowly looking at each dog carefully.Don't know what they thought they were gonna find, the only thing those dogs had fought was gravity as they tried to get there fat ass off the ground to get to the water bucket.I guess if you had a banged up dog they could get your tag when you leave, and start checking out what you got going on around your place???

I think that would be great thing to try and start up. IM in northeastern NC and its not much here in the way of events. Lots of available land though. IM tired of backyard BS and looking for better things to get involved in.
