dog stopped eating

i have a 8 mnth old bitch that gets fed the same amount same time every day normaly eats as soon as it is front of her but for the last three days has not ate at all hardly but is still acting normal and extremely healthy what could be the cause of this could she be about to go in heat does that cause it sometimes she has not had a heat cycle yet and is not showing signs but something is going on i gave her some b complex but not working yet she just acts like she doesnt have much of a apetite anyone have any answers as to what could be occuring?

If she is still looking and acting healthy, I wouldn't think that it would be anything major unless she continues to not eat. It's probably just because of the change in weather. It's starting to get hot and they don't tend eat as much then.

 

I would keep a close eye on here over the next couple of days. They do slow down on eating I have seen during the hot periods maybe try feeding her in the evening and adding a little something different to her feed. Is she still drinking plenty of water?

 

Many times a dog will stop eating for a few days before they go into heat. They usually go into heat around 8 or 9 months. Try the suggestion of mixing in some wet food. Is she still drinking water. If not you may have to take her to the vet and have her looked over. My dog stopped eating before her heats and right in the middle of her pregnency too. It usually passes. Hers did, but we had to mix some wet food in to her dry. Later we had to give her just wet food. After the pups all went back to normal. 7 healthy pups doing well. I would be a bit worried if she ate nothing at all for 3 days and wouldnt let it go any longer before taking action.


Is she drinking water,Is it a lot more then usually?

Not trying to freak you out but there could be a possibillity she swallowed a foreign object.

What i find helps the appetite is SQ lactated ringers believe it or not.
Had pups that were sick and wouldnt eat but after each slug of ringers they ate some.

no possibility of her eating a foreign object she is drinking water as normal and is in the shade just only eating half or a little less of what she normaly eats tahts all acts normal though and aas for the lactated ringers where do i get them without a script?

Well it could be a # of things BUT if they hadnt eatin for three days U might want to give them broth ( OUT OF THA CAN BY SYRINGE) just to give them some liguids. then take it from there.
