if it happened once its gonna happen again. Bull breeds do not need doggy friends. have a better understanding of your dogs history and realize that dogs can take a year to two+ to fully mature and have an attitude totally different from when they were puppies. just be carefull and you said that the female Mut tries to bully your staff you need to correct that or your staff is gonna woop that muts ass Bro! Dont leave both unatended while you are gone kennel one of them when you leave the house for any time period. if you feel bad about kenneling alternate between the two. My point just be careful and never let you staff run free in the yard if it is not fenced.

they should be separated one outside one inside if possible so one doesn't try to fight the other while it's in the crate. anything is possible especially if they have already had a go with each other.

it may just be that your staff is tryng to make himself a defined position in the heirachy - when they experience a new dog moving in it can be hard for them because they need to know where their order is (below you) but also in relation to the other dogs. my parents have 2 german shepards and the younger one tends to push the boundaries..winds up the older one until she puts him in his place, might be that kinda thing, especially considering hes not shown any signs of aggression before and not being apbt he may never 'turn on' - most people on this site have game-bred apbts which absolutely need to be treated differently to other breeds, as far as dog aggression goes anyway. - in saying that, use this as a lesson, it could happen, and when it does it happens lightning quick..u needa have it in mind constantly.

lol @ steve martin...did you even read the original post?

Dont trust the cheap wire crates or plastic ones. Some dogs are ok with them. I got a couple I had to make crates outta 1/2" square steel tubing kinda of like a tiger cage lol.

Most of these pictures he was around 8-9months old he is now almost a year and a half i really need to get updated pictures of him. I think he is a very pretty dog he is my buddy...

Curiosity is getting the best of me... do you feed your dogs when they mooch? :P If you don't show that you're in control of the food (one way of showing you're in control is not giving into mooching.. as that only encourages the behaviour and you are actually rewarding them for doing it!) then the dogs see everybody as equal and will squabble over who gets to eat first.

Once a fight occurs, it's almost certainly going to occur again and escalate each time. Contact a professional animal behaviorist and get an assessment. In all likelihood, the dogs will need to be permanently separated.

As most have said just seperate the dogs. You should be fine as long as they don't stay close together. The alpha role is a huge one that you absolutely Need to fill. If not things will be very messy for you in the long haul.

  17. what iv figured out with dogs over the years is to make them face their fears and problems. bring them together. obviously dont let them unsupervised...yet...but bring them on walks together, hiking, have fun with both. when they realise that they have fun when the other dog is around things will change. you said that you just moved in with you gf...they are more than likely just trying to find out their pecking order. if it is it is usually a once off once the weaker one realises it. she will become submissive to him and things will flow. work on it. i dont agree with the crate and rotate business because that in my opinion makes them want to fight each other more. walking in the same direction together is the best way to bond with your dog and for your dog to bond with other dogs. hard at first but trust me it gets easier. iv done it on numerous occasions and it does work. create a pack. no fights in a wild pack. good luck

Pecking order and a once off is B.S. just like no fights in a wild pack.
