Let me tell you putting our breed into music or a cover of a cd or penthouse mag is NO GOOD. DMX is a creation for making money. Drugs shows how focus he is into his dogs. PEOPLE WILL NEVER STOP HURTING THIS BREED BECAUSE THEY DO IT WRONG AND FOR THE WRONG REASONS, CAN'T CLOSE THEIR HOLE. SOME WILL NEVER LOVE THE DOG. EVERYBODY WANTS TO BE SOMEBODY PLEASE DON'T USE THE DOG TO BE THAT SOMEBODY. FOR THE PEOPLE THAT LIVE IN THE PAST YOUR WASTING TIME. BECAUSE WE HAVE TO TRUST WHO WE GET OUR DOGS TODAY. Ok ok I know I am wayyyy late on this one but after reading some of the responses on this thread I HAD to say something.DMX is a loose canon a very gifted one. an idiot maybe? but a verry gifted one. He puts who he is into his music . he dosent water it down. He speeks of the thug lifestyle because he lived it. he does not promote it. Part of who this man is are these dogs. He is a artist not a role model for the breed.Hell he ant no role model period, and does not clam to be. If you were to put yore heart and soul on a record would you be half as honest? Only a vary lost soul would WORSHIP a entertainer. Because of his fame the man is a target. What the hell is a ''THUG TYPE'' who uses the breed as an extention of his ego. To some on this board I get the feeling it is a black man in a urbin setting with a pitbull. I think some people on this board belive if you have youre hat turned backwards & are wearing baggy pants you are a thug type that dosent deserve to own the breed. The man made it out!! He is an insporation to me for that alone. music is a art. Hip hop is a art. If you dont understand DMX'S art dont speek on it. Some of the people on this board sure do have alot of knowlige on these dog's. It is vary clear reading this thread some of the same people dont know a damn thing about hip hop. Rockstar you would hit him over the head with a louisvile slugar??? sounds like promoting of a thug mantality to me. With statements like that Youre no better than the man you are bashing.

 

I couldn't have possibly said it better myself BIG GAME. Many people here are always advising without fishing around, then they start to assume. For all the people who are educated on the breed SHUTUP, LISTEN, and look at things from all angles. For some reason I think someone will have a smart a$$ reply to this post anyway.

 

But thats the thing with many users on this forum. They have a tendency to judge and make assumptions without even knowing and understanding one. They are negative because the future of this breed is in jeopardy.

Anyone who can't see how dmx has badly hurt the breed is blind. The perception of Pitbulls as "gansta dogs" has helped fuel BSL as much as any single thing.

Maybe DMX never asked to be a role model, but he is nonetheless. If he loved these dogs so much, seems he'd attempt to offer something positive instead of all the constant neverending negative bullshit as it always is with him. He may be gifted...but he's a fucking idiot.





EDIT: Okay...after some thought-provoking conversation with my brilliant wife, I've come to the realization that perhaps I'm not being fair in regard to the whole DMX issue. It isn't right of me to question X's love for his dogs; it's obvious to me that he does, in fact, possess a profound love for them -at least his own. I may not appreciate the message he puts out there, but it's his right to do as he so chooses. As was previously suggested, he's an artist, and makes no claim to be anything more. It isn't his job to police his fans and followers. It isn't his job to be some kind of ambassador for this breed we all are so passionate about. My disrespect comes from the fact that he is doing
damage with some of the ideas he puts in people's heads, regardless of whether it's purposeful or inadvertent, and he assumes absolutely no responsibility for that. I invited him to this site for discussion, but he declined. However, if we'd like to book him for a show, he'd be more than happy to oblige X/

I know we have all seen his videos with the dogs lunging at people and other things that right there says the complety wrong message.

 

and yes ppl killing dogs is a super bad image for the breed ok if a dog is dog aggresive it dont look as bad as him lunging at you or your kids those things are very bad images

 

DMX is a thug. The best way to define a thug is the way 2Pac put it, " a thug is someone who came from the gutter and is still here". The media has portrayed this mans' dogs as gangstas, or hoodlums so to speak. Maybe I'm missing something, but I have never heard of one of his dogs being involved in any type of attack. Just recently at a video or photo shoot, a dog got loose, but no-one was harmed. Once again, you hardcore game-doggers have proved that you are no better than the BSL, PETA or media with your stereotypes on a man who was brought up a certain way and stayed true to where he came from. If you seen white trash with a few bully bred dogs then what would your assumptions be. The negative perception of pitbulls can't be blamed on DMX. As much as he shows love for his dogs, that is a positive. I know many of you wish he would use some of his millions to help the breed, but IMO I wouldn't invest a penny into myself because there will always be someone to screw things up. Maybe some of you hate to see a thug, especially a rich one, with a love for the same dogs you own. As for the chains and acts of agression shown in his videos, it's portrayed in a form of art that people who do not understand how the streets and rap combine. DMX has made millions being who he is, what have you done?

 

just for your ifo they sezed alot of dogs from him and charged him with animal abuse a veg charge i will give you that but man there are video with him having dogs lunge at camera and two dog at the end of there leashes trying to kill each other u can not say this is a bad image he is famous and plays a big role in image just as would any ather famos person

i love DMX... i enjoy his rhyme, his music,i know his lyrics very well...seen his videos and always want to watch them, but all the negative bull thats in his lyrics and videos does not influence me at all...its just music, its just image. they are MEANT to entertain.

The fact is that he uses pitbulls as part of his "thug" image, and has portrayed them poorly in his videos and that is bad for the breed no matter how you look at it. If he (and other celebrities) could come out to shed a positive light on the breed, it would certainly help-if only a little. Until then, his actions speak volumes to those who know nothing more than what they see on TV or read in the paper-which is more than likely 75% of the population.

You and everyone else is right including society. Pit bulls are dogs that belong to thugs and white trash. There just isn't a rags to riches for them or us huh?

I doubt 75% of the population listens to his music or even knows who he is(like some of you have already proved). I don't make excuses for anyone. I have been one of those misunderstood people all my life that is why I have clarity and understanding. Too many civilians are so educated with their books that you only know about the streets that you read about or seen on tv. There aren't too many entertainers who boasts and brag about the trailer parks

I never heard of him being involved wit no illegal activities wit his dogs and most of you are talking about how we pertray the pit bull to be.
