Right now the germans are more active then any of the countries mentioned in this thread ,so saying germany does not have good dogs is silly. But then again, if you have to ask for dogs from poland or slovakia ..... You have a long way to go.

Interesting read. Why are dogs from Poland bad? Most of the APBT I saw here in Lithuania are from Poland, there are some nice dogs.

  3. You got me wrong. What I wanted to say is, that the law has some errors. Its very important in which state (Bundesland) you live. In Schleswig-Holstein a BSL (Rasseliste) dont exsists anymore. In Baden-Würrttemberg the local communitys are open-minded. They dont care about imported dogs, but you have to test your dog (Wesens-Test). Of course, there are some states, like Bavaria, which are crazy intolerant.

  4. WNK said one thing absolutely right: In Germany its very, very hard to find good Bulldogs or gamebred dogs or "original" Pitbulls or good bloodlines. But in Europe are some good dogs.

But there is a nationwide law that forbids import of APBT, AST, SBT and I think EBT.
Atleast it existed 6 years ago. Did they lift it? I would have heard of it?

  6. You right and wrong. There is a law which forbids the import of "Fighting Dogs" - respectivily "dangerous dogs" (Hunde auf der Rasseliste). However, in Europe there are no more borders. So, it makes no sense, does it? Thats only one of many stupid things. But lets start from beginning...

When my dog took the "Wesenstest" (the examiniers are 2 Cops and a vet), I asked one of the cops: "where do all the dogs with foreign papers come from? Isnt it illegal?" The cop said, in our local authority (every community got their own tests/laws) the only important thing is to register and test your dog (the test costs 630 Euro - wtf!). To register your dog you need papers (Impfung, Stammbaum, Geburtsurkunde), but in my local authority papers from abroad are accepted. Maybe somewhere else it wont be that easy. But its not a big problem, too. Every vet can give you (German) papers. Your vet wont ask you many questions probably.

However, in my hometown its enough to take the foreign or German papers, register the dog and to test the dog some month later. Thats it. BUT in Bavaria it is absolutely impossible to register any "fighting dog". If your doog look like a Pitbull, Bullterrier, AmStaff, et cetera, (really, only the look is enough), your dog will be euthanized. Like I said, the Bavarians are some crazy, intolerant idiots. Anyway, what do you need to import a gamebred bulldog?

    1. go to your local authority, check out what papers are needed to register you dog and whether foreign papers are accepted.
1.1 ask your local authority which police officer will test your dog (in der Regel ist es die Hundestaffel vor Ort)
1.2 ask the police officer what papers are needed to test your dog
    2. if German papers are needed, talk to your vet
    3. get your game bred bulldog
    4. register your dog
    5. test your dog

Its even possible to import a dog from the USA into Germany. I have friends/family in Italy. Next year I want to buy a pure Colby dog from the USA (there is no Colby Blood in Europe). I will travel from Italy to the USA and from the USA back to Italy. Its legal to import a Pitbull in Italy, Austria, Netherlands.... From Italy I will travel to Germany (no borders) and register the dog in my hometown. Thats it.

Sure, you have to take a lot of effort and talk to a lot of people/your authority. But its possible to import a gamebred dog. At least in Baden-Württemberg and Schleswig-Holstein.

in poland there are two that i know of ,forest hill knls and a dude kwiatkowski they important ages ago some dogs look them up. there is also working stock out there mainly crosses but i doubt they sell any . good luck

  11. Thanks for the reply. Do you know forest hill and Kwiatowski personally? How can I get in touch with them? Are they active breeders?

I am in touch with two guys in the USA who know a lot of Colby breeder. But it would be much less effort to get a pure Colby dog from Poland/Europe. Would be awesome.

  12. Nothing found via Google. Too bad... But it seems like my informations were right: there is no pure Colby Blood in Europe.

No offense dude but it sounds like your problem is that you just don't know the right people. I'm not even from Germany, but I'm kind of offended that one of the first comments was "You wont find good dogs in Germany." The reason you're not finding the information you seek on Google of all places is because people just don't put their info out like that in the gamedog community. Honestly, your first mistake is using Google to find answers to your questions. (Most) gamedog people just aren't open like that. Or they post their info in private forums that Google can't reach.

My advice: network with the kennels you can in Europe. Go to shows. Prove to them that you're truly interested in the fraternity. Or, network on Facebook. Sounds silly but that's the path I took, and as long as you're smart and keep a sense of scepticism, you'll find the answers you seek.

And get offline! Some of the best breeders won't even have their pedigrees online...

"You wont find good dogs in Germany."

I wrote that... Not because there are not good dogs, but because he wont FIND them.

Fyrehound you are right! On Google he can find only history stuff or people from country where fight dogs is legal. No way to find big claim like Ch or Gr Ch from germany, italy, france or country like these.
