At one point they would'nt answer ether way. This is a preservative that comes from fish and is banned for human consumption becuase it is highly carcigenic. Some foods that have fish meal in it have this. Canadea(Diamond product) used to say no ethoxyquim on the bag... but I don't see it any more and it has fish listed on the bag. This was a e-mail from the chicken soup line diamond makes. Diamond makes Kirkland food too.

The preservation systems used by our vendors are considered proprietary information. However, we know that the heat from our pet food process destroys antioxidants that are used in the ingredients that we purchase. After the heat process (extrusion and drying), we apply natural tocopherols (Vitamins A & E) in order to carry the shelf life of the food. The cooking process at our facilities is at or above 240 degrees. If there were any ethoxyquin in the ingredients it would be eliminated due to its lack of heat stability. Diamond does not preserve any of its products with ethoxyquin, only with mixed tocopherols.

Most good brands use mixed tocopherols these days. . . although the evil Science Diet not only uses Ethoxyquin they will try to tell you it's GOOD for your dog.

true but I am concerned as I am debating using chicken soup feed. I use Before grain rt now and my dogs got really really quick. Can't afford to feed em more of it. 45 for a 30lb bag but will wt my ptions.

I have been feeding Canidae lamb and rice for a little over a year and have had no problems with it since the change in the formula.

    I pay 41 for 35lbs and use the breeder program so it's buy 5 get 1. . .

the dogs look and act fine. poops are fine. each dog eats about 2 cups a day.

I've been feeding Canidae for 3 years & dogs are doing great on it. I recently started feeding the Grainless ALS w/ no problems. Great feed IMO.
