zoe there is a difference between a house dog getting fired up. & a highstrung bulldog fired up. when they want it bad they will do just about anything to get there way. Some people understand & deal some cant.

This IS his house dog though, isn't it? Didn't he say as well the dog has done shit like this before with no dog around? Not that I care. Whatever someone wants to keep is their business as long as they can keep it out of public eye, makes no difference to me. I don't think it's about understanding or dealing so much as it is about what quality of temperment someone demands of their dogs, regardless of whether it's working, sporting, or pet dogs. What do I know though? I just always thought our breed was more than that. Makes me disappointed in the game dog community if this is ok in their eyes, especially to anyone that would consider selling to the public. If you keep your dogs to yourself, fill your boots, no doubt, but if some leave your hands, I'd think a higher standard should be upheld. Breaks my heart a little bit, truely a dissappointment. Really makes you wonder where exactly this breed is heading....

wow... I actually have so many thoughts and comments running thru my mind I don't know where to start...lmao

The responses are all over the place that is for sure.... From swift and severe to almost no reaction...

Manbiter...a term that is thrown out there way to easily and quickly IMO. It is so much easier to label a dog a manbiter and have it put down then to actually evaluate the situation as well as the dog and look for solutions.

Marty, you know your dog better than anyone, you have the experience to judge the dog better than anyone...and ya opened yourself up for the responses on this one..lmao

Intensity in one dog can be a whole different level than in another, you can't expect every dog to react the same.

marty, it wouldnt take much to make this a news headline buddy lol...
did you get the reactions you wanted lol.
youve made your decission and now you are showing pix of that same dog with kids? yet you say that your dog is like this even if there are no other dogs involved. maybe i over read that part. like i stated, ive had them mouth me, but never because of a repremand, once, depending on severity would he get away with that, maybe.. twice, then he's gone, remembering he is a house dog and no other animals are involved.
what are you going to do when that kid grabs the nap and his bite that didnt get you so bad comes in contact with that kids face????
i have also had one that was our family house dog, she was very stable, never even in the slightest made a mistake, looked sideways, nothing. she started gett'n old and one day she slipped up,lowered her head a little, looking up with those white's showing, i grabbed her, faced her away from me and put her on a chain run, she was fine for a while, but i did not let anyone near her. just as well also. a few weeks go by and i go out to feed her and she flew through the air at the end of the chain straight at my face. my freind, she stayed where she dropped.
i think marty, you already had made your decission before you posted and just wanted to see the reactions of others without giving a to detailed statment:) tell you the truth marty, i dont even know if he's all bulldog or a cross, thats how much i know about him.
deed done, your the one thats gonna have that uneasy feeling everytime, not us.
this all made for a good thread didnt it lol..;)

the most barnstorming crazy maniac of an animal ive ever owned never once turned around and even looked at me when i was breaking him off an animal. and this dog was crazy aggressive towards all animals but pups and bitches. badgers, coyotes, coons, you name it, he destroyed it. i never worried grabbing him cuz he never gave me a reason to. he was a house dog when my first daughter was born, and thats MY idea of an APBT.

WTF is that sh*t?^ " You'd THINK a higher standard should be upheld."

you're outta your league a little don't you THINK? where in the world do you get off generalizing one incident to the point that you THINK everyone in the game dog world believes this is ok? and as for where this breed is heading lady, right back into the hands it should have never f***ing left. <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

Yes... *I* think a higher standard should be held, and obviously I'm not the only one. I'm entitled to my opinion just as anyone else is regardless of what YOU think. Do you really think this is the only discussion I've been involved in concerning redirected aggression with game dog folk? I'm not generalizing that ALL game dog folk think this, as obviously that's not the case. I'm disappointed that there ARE people in the game dog community, as there are in other facets of the APBT world, that make excuses for HA and I'll argue up and down about it regardless of whose saying it. Actually, probably MORE disappointed with game doggers because not only are they the ones supposed to be upholding the breed in it's true form, but a dog that is bred with the amount of drive and determination as a game dog should have, is much more of a danger to a person if it's HA than a watered down ''pet bull''. Not my fault game dog folks let the breed into the hands of the public and are still doing it and will continue to do it for ego and profit. I'd love nothing more than to see game dog people close their yards and keep the dogs out of the hands of the GP, ESPECIALLY the ones that make excuses for HA.

You wanna know what I think? Probably not, but I'm going to tell you anyway. I think game dog people who make excuses for HA are no better than the show/sport people who overlook temperment because they want their shiney little trophies and ribbons. They are so absorbed with winning, to feed their own egos they'll overlook crappy temperment despite the long term damage it will do to the breed and cover it up with comments like ''you just don't get it'' or ''you can't handle it'' yadda yadda bullshit. I don't really give two shits who agrees with me, or who thinks ''I'm out of my league''. Only thing I care about is the breed and where it's heading. I have very little concern about appeasing anyone regardless of who they THINK they are.

I'm in a league of my own, so I'm always out of my league and that's just how I like it. ;)

A lot of dogs to I think act out what they SEE! In some cases, so if you live in a hostile environment or Told to "WHO'S AT THE DOOR" For more than or even as little as a week. its gonna develop human aggression in SOME case not all by any means! There are so many variables to every incident identify hard to classify any dog with another. Attack's on humans with dogs is a trait that has been excepted and even videos to encourage since Dog on Dog was no longer. But we all are not to blame so maybe but you are ultimately responsible for your dogs being bred, owned, sold, adopted or whatever YOU are who has to sleep!

P.S. This Is not A Shot At Anyone! Just an opinion!;):)

on the other hand Game doggers are also aware of things that happen within a group,, things that can happen and i dont care how good you are it still will be incidents, game doggers are human just like pet bullers, but i also think someone who honestly cares for they're dogs have alot better understanding of what goes on in a dogs mind compared to someone who wants to humanize they're animals, Now dont get me wrong,, any dog can surprize you,,
