Joanie W. is pals with Diane Jessup. Jessup runs Sorrells dogs. In fact there was an article about Jessup in the Gazette, painting her in a positive light. TL is one of those people who people trust as he is congenial. That is the best kind of informant. The final outcome of the raid of him and Smith never was really verified. I know nothing happened to TL and heard that Smith went to a rest home and lost his dogs. Perhaps TL threw him under the bus too. I have the printed stuff from the sheriff but it is at my other place in one of about 30 boxes of evidence and copies they made for the trial. It is hard to get there as our driveway is 300 ft of mud. When it dries out I will go out there and spend a few hours digging and find it. Otherwise it would have already been posted. Nothing personal, but I just wanted to bring up an important point of FACT..directed toward ANYONE who does'nt know Mr Tant personally(including media reporters, investigators, surveyors etc.)

Who SAW him harming dogs?
Who SAW him fighting dogs?
They say they found injured dogs?
...Anyone having dogs knows accidental fights and a myriad of other things happen, will this also lead to anyone who has an injured bulldog, be thought of this way?

It makes me sick...THE POINT IS:
The LAW states: INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY!!!
How can anyone have a fair trial, when the humaniacs go in with their media circus and make a HUGE PUBLIC deal ...AND be allowed to do that???

...anyone who's saying anything about this has no proof...EXCEPT from reading or hearing about it...through 3rd parties and rumor
...anyone who personally knows the man as a friend..certainly would'nt say anything to make his situation worse, would they?
REMEMBER THIS
Pleading guilty is usually the ONLY alternative you have(besides the 'other'), when you don't have the excessive funds necessary to fight the accusations....

Sometimes a person pleads guilty because they know the deck is stacked ,and if they gamble on winning they take the chance of losing big.So they take the best deal they can get at the time.Its gambling at the highest level.

 

i know exactly what your saying they sound like this_ your case looks really good i think we can beat this! they offered you a sweet deal 2 years with half beacause its a really weak case but the d a doesnt want to drop it.. we can take it trial but if we lose its 10 years with 85%.. if you lose you lose big and your going to waste all your money on attorney fees and still get them 10 years.. put you life in 12 other peoples hands you know nothing about.. do you think they are going to take your word over d a and cops hope you never have to find out.. i went trial once and that only because they wanted to play for keeps i took it to the box and won

 

He hung himself on the dogfighting thing. They found tapes of dogfights. The prosecution showed the tapes to the jury. After watching the tape some of the jurors were crying. He then decided to plead guilty. This is according to a newspaper report I read when it happened.

Lesson from this: don't fight dogs
If you are dumb enough to fight them don't have tapes of it
Don't have a jury trial and depend on the publics opinion

Call the South Carolina Division of Corrections. Then call the dog fighting task force. Make sure you give all of your personal information. Tell them that you are looking to acquire "Working Stock" as well.

I got away from the game because of a divorce and people in the dog game want to act like the game is a legal sport.They want fame , recognition, and pictures of them selves in dog magazines.They want to have a large convention with 50 plus dogmen there.I never aloud pictures taken of myself . What happens when an event is being held the first thing a dogman does is tell another dogman on the phone and so on it goes then u wind up with 50 plus there.Why not just run an ad in the local paper. Dave Adams said it best he got out because guys where acting like it was a legal game.

 

Tant didnt get all that time for dog fighting. I believe a federal agent was hurt in the raid to his place and the prosecutors charged Tant with attempting to kill a federal agent.Tant testified against Fat Bill it was in a paper from Virginia or Carolina. Someone did post the article of the court proceedings on another site .It is what it is.

Icepick thanks for the link it's the first time I have ever read that story it's pretty sad that people turn on each other when the shit hits the fan to save their own asses that's pretty cowardly If you ask me what a shame.
