Dachshunds attack pit bulls and girl

BROOKSVILLE, FL -- It aint the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog. Just ask the ten year old Brooksville girl who was walking her two pit bulls Monday.

According to a Hernando County Sheriff's report, the unnamed child was walking her friends two pit bulls when three dachshunds escaped from their home and charged the big dogs. The sheriff's report says, "The one dachshund nipped (the girl's)right leg in the back right above the ankle. (The girl) stated that the pit bulls did nothing but look at the three dachshunds."

The girl was not seriously hurt. Just a scratch, according to the report.

The dachshunds' owner, Chris Crawford, came to the rescue and made sure the little girl was alright. He may also have been trying to prevent his puny pooches from making the pit bulls angry.

Deputies were called to make sure the three attack dachshunds named Speckles, Peanuts and Pupperoo had their shots. No criminal charges were filed

No criminal charges?! Now, if it had been the other way around, and the girl had the Dackels and the pit bulls were loose...

 

A member of my family had 3 dachshunds and a toy poodle. Recently the poodle got up in age and the dachshunds killed and ate part of him.

 

Its kinda animal nature and i dont really want anything to happen to the dachshunds' but its still not fair. Any dog that looked anything like a bull breed wouldn't been put to sleep and been all over the TV...

 

put those large rodents to sleep, they bit someone end of story.

I would have pressed charges.

 

flipside, had the pitbulls bit one of those dogs they would have been deemed dangerous and prolly put down!

my wife has this old ass dachshund and he is mean, snaps at anything from dogs to kids. Well he was visiting my house(lives with her parents) and got all big on my girl Missy, needless to say she was DA and she opened a nice gash on his head. I will give him credit tho he kept coming. Those little feckers got some ballz. But I have to agree if it was a Pit attacking the girl, then all hell would break loose. "It is because the carnage and locking jaws pit bull are so much more dangerous" LOL.......no double standards here.
