Culling

Discussion in 'Dog Discussion' started by Grizzly's Boss, Jun 7, 2010.

  1. I often hear people use the phrase CULL HARD. what does this mean to you?

do you give them back to god? you know he loves them.:D

or do you get them off your yard by selling or giving them to others?

if you are just giving or selling them to others are'nt you spreading the same shit that you are trying to get away from:confused:

or do you take them to the vet and order the HIT?

what does culling mean to you?

cant see this doing any good on a public forum? Everyone should do what they think and know is right and not worry about others business or what they feed.

Again ego tends to come into play when talking about culling dont think this should be the case...

Not sure, but I bet if you used that great little tool on here known as search you could probably find a plethora of threads about this same exact topic. Cull hard means exactly that how you do it is up to you. Many people cull for all sorts of reasons, and not all culls contrary to popular belief are junk cur dogs.

just my opinion to me humane agression is the only bullet to the head fault any other fault ends in spay or nueter and give away or the pound here they dont uthinize all pits so at least they have a chance besides a good friend of mine is chief inspector for animal controll she loves pits i just call her and tey aint my prob no more its always great to have an ace in the hole lol........

i my self think for me depends on the sittuation ive had people n kids asking me for dogs n if the timing is rite in the past ive made up a lie about a health issue reason why the dog couldnt be bread n call that the reason for not wanting the dog some just wanting a pet wouldnt mind but timing isnt always rite n aometimes what has to be done has to be done

  8. to me that only means one thing killed with no pet home possibility

Ironhide... You're kidding me right? You would really spueter the animal and stick it in the pound knowing Damn well the average person can't handle these kinds of dogs? What if that animal got loose and attacked someone pet? Wouldn't you feel somewhat responsible?

its means to eliminate from the breeder program. i spay/neuter. rarly would i place a dog, NEVER in the pound. Just keep my numbers low so i dont have access dogs everywhere and contribute to the overpopulation problem

you are dumb as Fuck and why peddler dont need to be around because dumbasses like you get dogs....maybe with the fat curr dogs you call "pits" its not an issue... but if you were a responsible breeder or owner of an apbt you would NEVER give the dog to a pound. apbt are not to be sent to a pound, if you dont want a dog any longer or it didnt turn out to be the quality you wish to perpetuate do the right thing and HUMANELY euthanize it, that means bullet or needle thats it!(or place in responsible home but being that you arent a responsible owner im sure you are not capable of making that judgement)

and what the fuck you think it means grizzly... cull absolutely anything that doesnt meet your standard, thats the only way you will produce the type of animal you want... it doesnt matter what type of breeding program you have.. if im raising cattle and i have a standard that my cows are supposed to produce x amount of milk and be so big... if that mf cow doesnt meet my standard by a millimeter or a mile...its the same result, that damn shit is culled(wont be bred)... whether you give it a home till it dies, place it in another responsible home, or give it a good dinner, take it out back, give it a pettin, let it have its last smile and pop it in the head, or take it to the vet if you prefer... it is of no difference to me what you do with YOUR animals, do whatever your comfortable with.

Have to agree here. I like to get dogs from the kind of people who will cull dogs a lot of other people would be proud to feed. Nobody likes culling. To me it's the ugliest part of bein in the dogs but cold hard facts is the harder you cull/test, the better program you're gonna have. If you're a bleeding heart it's always gonna hold you back a lil bit. And to me, cull does mean dirt nap. I do agree that if it's not good enough for me why give it to someone else? After all, your name is on it.

When I lived in Hawaii I had a couple of friends that ran hog hunting tours for tourists, I gave them all my rejecto's, I was lucky in that sense and felt I did the dogs right by giving them something to do! The dogs worked out really well for the feral Hawaiian pigs. Now not every rejecto was suitable to work in a pack and the one's that weren't I had to deal with myself. Not the easiest thing to do, but a necessary evil if you want to be a breeder of top shelf bulldogs. Bottom line is if you can't clean up a mess that you created you got no business in the bulldog game! I does take a certain amount of ruthlessness to do it right!
