going through my pups pedigree, and there seems to be a fair amount of crossgun
    breeding in there.
just wondering does anyone know much about this line of staff breeding.
not that it makes much differance to me, but i like to know what i have.

Crossguns are probably the most successful show kennel in the uk.

    Good luck with your dog

Very sorry, but looks inferior to me.
Working with this type of Staff is like fighting with 3 rucksacks on your back or racing with a trailer behind the car.
    Totally useless.

could you tell my why that is noqz.
also if that is the case, where would i start to look for a working staff.

you seem to disagree with nogz jonnim.
what are your views on this line off dog.
also are they just for showing or can and do they compete in trails.

  9. yes mike i have 2 the one in the picture and heres his mother.. i dont do aney weight pulling ect with them.. when i go fereting sometimes id bring them to do the bushs but thats about it.. theres not much you can do with them besides showing.. meg.gif

  10. if you wanted to do trails weigth pulling springpoll ect.. you should bring your dog to that eirepitbulls training thing its on sundays in dublin...

    HI BRRUCE.
the whole reason that i got this staff pup was to replace the one i had.
he died 2 months ago, also i wanted to get into the weight pulling and agilty with him.
but it seems that i have made the wrong choose off dog.
do you know anyone that uses this line of dog for this type of sport.
i do not want to do the show thing with him.

    hi bruce.
he has a spring poll set up for him from the last staffs that i had here, also i work him out with the flirt poll as well.
i live right across the country from dublin, so it would not be easy to get there.
i will keep with him and see how he goes.
    atb, mike.

  13. you should of got a pitbull for weight pulling ect... i no 2 or 3 people who use them for a bit of hunting like on a dig or elce for bushing... the best place to bring your dog would be to that eirepitbulls training thing theres a couple of people who bring show type staffs to it...

  14. heres one i have ugly basterd... bruc.jpg

i looks like a fine strong dog.
i have the the same type of ball hanging of the spring poll.
    even the same colour.
so really what you are saying is that in your opinion, i have made the wrong choice in dog for that type of sport.
    atb, mike.

  16. no im not saying u made the wrong choice but im just saying that a pitbull would be better for wat u want... you can stil do the same things with a staff..

  17. mikej

    mikej Pup

i had the choice off a pit bull or staff.
since i am used to staffs thats the one i picked.
we will see how it goes with him.
its what you put in, you get out whats counts.

had a look at the photos.
he is a fine looking dog.
how did you get on with weight pulling.
did it take you long to get him fit and lean enough for the trails.
what weight and height does your dog make.
