Sadly, in my dealings w/him, that was not the case. This was w/American Bulldogs, not APBT's. If you dealt w/people he didn't like, then you could not expect to be treated fairly. And, personally, I think most of his blue dogs did not have American Bulldog crossed into them. He sold the ABA w/in the last year or so.

  2. What if the akc dogs you got has working/proven parents, grandparents, ect. Would that make the dog less of a APBT. I know there are amstaffs out there who still work and still have the gameness intact. not all amstaff breeders went the way of the bluffbull.

I have bred & owned Watchdog dogs & no, IMO they were not crossed with AB. From what I understand, CC sold off all his APBTs BEFORE he got into ABs. The bigger size comes from the AST influence in his dogs.

CC used to be a UKC judge & exhibitor, but he did game test his dogs (I think CC is RIP, so I can safely say that). The UKC of course looked down on that, so he took his business & his dogs to the ADBA. Because he did test his dogs, you could still get game dogs from time to time from his line. Blue Bully for example was said to be a very game dog & I myself had a double bred granddaughter of WD Blue Glory who literally would have been dead game if you'd have let her (before anyone asks, we found out from a kennel accident, we do not fight dogs). So do not judge a book by it's cover.

Sadly however, when CC sold off all his stuff the quality of the line began to deteriorate greatly, since the folks he sold to were breeders of size &/or color alone. Many of these people began breeding out of standard or began crossing the WD blood into AmBully blood. So the WD blood of today has become a shadow of it's former self. :(

If anyone wants to see some pics of the Watchdog dogs of old, check out this link:

It has several good pics of the original dogs as well as some good info.

    Hope this helps.

Well if these experts know Casey as long as I have, then they can explain the breeding of Ch. Turtle Buster and Holland's Liz 2xw that Casey bred as well as all those Mason's Ch. Hog breeding.

From the litter of Ch. Turtle Buster and Liz was Dempsey aka Casey who produced a litter off Lab Rat's Lace off Don Q and Turtle Girl.
Lace was Ch, Reddy's litter mate sister.
Or the well known Black Mike from N.Y. up around STP, who the owner of Lil Turtle bred too.

Watchdog might have crossed AST to APBT but I have never heard of him ever breeding American Bulldogs to AST or APBT.
I knew him when he live in Oh. and IN.
    Sounds like just hating.
Someone else might have taken his dogs and bred them the way others might think but I don't believe Casey did.
