I would have loved to live with a true pitbull, but they are banned in my country (France). Yet I couldn't live without a dog so I got a miniature bull terrier. She is 15 months old now (I will post pics soon). I want to condition her a bit so that she loses fat and tones up . Has any one conditioned a dog other than pit, and with what results?

how much drive does a mini bull terrier have? that would be a factor in how to condition your dog.

It all depends on the genetic of your mini-bull, good food, workouts and genetic will shape any dog, Bull terriers have usually a barrel body so its hard to make them look with a tuck and etc.

You can condition any dog really, I work my JRT along side my APBT's. He loves it more than they do I think, he works the mills like a pro and takes to the spring pole like a champ. Mind you I do this for no specific purpose except to just let him burn off energy which he seems to have plenty of.

Exercise is good for any breed of dog just be sure to not over do it.

I walk her every two days for like 45 minutes, on a high rate. She loves the flirt and spring pole, with a preference for the later. she plays ball catching every single day dor half an hour (very intensely). I watch her food carefully, I give her Proplan (200-250 gramms) and cow hide bones once and a while. I think she has a high prey drive, but since I live in a city and I don't hunt it is hard to test her fully. I don't know if I could qualify her as game cause it's a difficult word to understand. If game means "not quiting" then I guess she I would say average, though she is very stubborn. She has good genetics, but she hurt herself baddly when she was only 5 months old (jumped of a wall to get to me, a 2 meter jump on the pavement). He broke her leg and we then had to cut the head of her leg bone,. Now she walks and run like crazy.

His post states the dog is 15 months old, it broke it's leg at 5 months.

Since she had to undergo surgery I waited for her to fully recovrebefore putting any stress on her. I started "working" her 3 months ago. I will send pics very soon.

Replace her food with something quality, less filler, and that alone will do wonders for her looks and health.

Search the forum for "feed" and see what good is available in your area.

Do you mean that Proplan is crappy food? What do you give your dogs?

Good looking dog you got there. Really small.. I'm hoping my EBT x APBT mix is going to be pretty small.. he has the head of an EBT, but the body more like an APBT.

Pro Plan is not a quality feed. Too many fillers, not nearly enough quality meat.

I've been inside the Purina plant, and I'll have a hard time believing they will ever make a decent food.

They need to stop advertising like mad, put it in a cheap bag, and sell it for the $10 it's worth.

I do not know what's available in your area, if you need help picking a good dog food, please search the forums as it's been discussed many times.

I feed Canidae, and it's worth it's weight in gold. Great food, at a bargain price. One warning, dogs with food allergies tend to not do so well on it. If your animal is doing fine with corn gluten (the product that caused all the deaths/recalls not to long ago), then you should have no problems.

In the begining I was more looking for like examples of dogs that have underwent a sort of pitbull conditioning program. Does anyone have some sort of pics like that?
