Same here. I am not sure if Bama takes an L in the Big Ten but there would have been some better games. I am not sure anyone can score enough to beat Bama but there are a couple of defenses that would give the Bama O some fits.

I think Bama is the class of the field. Deshaun Watson is mobile enough, strong enough arm and big/fast receviers which is the combination that gives Bama the most trouble. Bama's team speed on defense may be the best I have ever seen and they are ultra aggressive. Misdirection and cutting back is the only thing that really hurts them. Clemson is the only offensive team in the running that can meet their speed across the board. The opposite is also true. Clemson's defense can't hold up to the Alabama pounding.

I like the 4 team playoff system.Tough , physical sport and these kids are young and some still growing.I am satisfied with where the game is.

I agree. The play off is better than we have ever had. And I am not for more games. 13-14 games to win it all is too much.

My first thought is to lessen the cupcake games. But the cupcake games generate the revenue that keep some of the smaller schools in the game. A necessary evil.

8 would be easier to get right than 4 but adding to the schedule is not good for the kids, easier for me, better for the money making, media whore universities, but harder on the kids.

I understand every year is different. I just wish the criteria were more open and pre-specified. I use the eye test but I can't say the eye test should trump head to head competition. I think OSU is better than Penn State. But when giving the opportunity to prove that on the field Penn State said otherwise. In turn Penn State finished the season on a tear and won their division. If they beat Wisconsin I just see the eye test trumping the conference title and the head to head.

This is the exact reason why I suggested the 6 team format. Most of these teams already play too many games and under my scenario it would only be two teams in the entire country that would play one extra game. 1 and 2 get a bye, 3 plays number 6, and 4 plays number 5. It would mimic the only the NFL gets right.

I agree 6 would be a better format for limiting games played. My point as it is easier to separate 8 and 9/10 than it is 6 and 7/8.

I understand it can't be a tournament as broad ad basketball and I am really appreciative of the play off we have now. Even back in the days of the AP/Coaches poll, and even to the BCS, there was a lot of subjective influence on who got to play.

I am not anti-OSU no more than I am pro-Penn State. The entire premise of having a play off is to settle things on the field of play. That criteria and mind set should apply to getting in the playoff as well. If Penn State wins the Big 10 they should go in front of OSU.

I just get the feeling the choices will be made as Alabama is #1 and who are the next 3 teams that could possibly beat Alabama? not so much who did what to get here, if that makes sense.

Bama only put up 10 on LSU. Wisconsin beat LSU. If Bama had Wisc schedule this year I am betting on an L. The middle of the schedule was Mich,OSU,Iowa and Nebraska. That would take a lot out of a team. I agree Bama is the clear #1 this year...the routing of USC in the first game of the season was a "holy shit moment" but, I am curious if they were to play next week now USC has their offense rolling.I am with Slim on who are going to be the 3 teams that could possibly beat Bama. OSU is in and If Wisc beats Penn State I think they should get the 4 spot and play Bama. The 3 seed is a toss up.

I totally disagree.LSU at the beginning of the season was way to one dimesional on offense riding the LF train.Lots of teams could have beat LSU at that time , I could name @ least 10 off the top of my head. This LSU team now I

Sorry phone fucked up.Wisc couldn't beat them again imo.LSU was to one dimesional and all Wisc did was take away the run and make a bad LSU Qb try and beat them. Not rocket science.LSU doesn't even have the same QB at this point.Bama would beat USC again and be at least a 14 point favorite by LV in USC own back yard.

I will say the SEC isn't the best conference in college football this year and I think the bowl games will show us who is.I would rank the ACC and the Big 10 better. This may be Bama shortcoming not playing the high level comp they have in the past .So yea I'm saying Bama is beatable in the playoffs. This past weekend the ACC was 3 and 0 over the SEC with Georgia , Florida and South Carolina all losing but all 3 was SEC East teams. No SEC west teams .If you take a look back at the last 5 years at Bama on the road against LSU the margin of victory has been slim , combined total would be un 10 points and Bama still eon National titles.Blowouts at home vs LSU.If you have never been to Baton Rouge on a Saturday night you just wouldn't get it.Lots at stake in the Bama / LSU rivalry.Just looked yesterday and Bama cherry picked the number 7 outside linebacker in the Nation out of Louisiana.Bad blood here.Tim Williams the outstanding defensive player for Bama this year is from ? If you guess Baton Rouge your correct.

I would take Wisc over LSU again.(Wisc could have ran up the scores in most of their games but they just coast playing safe for the W.) Ofcourse Wisc took away the run...lol..thats definitely not rocket science. Who wouldn't try and take LF out of the game? And USC is a lot better than a 14 point spread Vs Bama.

Also look at at what Bama has done this year in the point spread from Las Vegas. They have covered more times than not.Including last weekend against a bitter in state rivalry.

Here is something yall may not know. Why did LSU hire Orgeron ? They are broke ! Ogeron is who they could afford. They could not afford Herman or Fisher.

I read that last year. They could not afford to pay the buyout on Miles and bring in a top notch guy...Fisher then, Fisher or Herman now.

I think Alabama is #1. USC is better now that at the beginning of the year, but so is Bama and everyone else. This is the best Alabama defense I have ever seen. Other years may have had better numbers in different areas but the team speed may be the best in the history of college football. Their defensive line can run RB's to the boundaries. They do not turn the corner because the lineman eliminate the corner before they get there. There have been faster and better corners at Bama, even better linebackers, but this defense is something special No one in the country gets to the ball in numbers like they do.

Of the teams Clemson has a mobile and fast QB with an NFL mind and arm talent. He has big and fast receivers. Their line is a little off run blocking but they hold blocks long enough for the quick receivers to come out of a break and Watson's quick delivery will be hard to handle. Bama's best attribute can be made into a weakness with misdirection and cutbacks. Clemson's offensive team speed can score on Alabama. I just do not see Clemson stopping Alabama at all. Their best hope (and scroll back to my anti-Lane Kiffen posts) is Lane Kiffin get pass happy early.

Sorry for babbling. Worked 12 hours last night. Got rear ended on the way home. Stopped by the lumber yard to pick up the metal that was suppose to be ready and it was the wrong color and wrong length. Waiting now to turn the roofers away when they get here. Time to kill.

I would say the same thing, except drop THE OSU and plug in Clemson.

OSU has struggled all year against big and fast defenses and no one is bigger and faster than Alabama. Michigan has the size but not the speed and they beat up OSU, just did not score enough. OSU would run on Alabama early but it would fade after the continual onslaught of 1st and 2nd round future NFL'ers.

Clemson has the speed and size on the outside with Watson, they can score. It would be a high scoring affair, closer on the scoreboard than on the field.

Slim you could be right and it may be time to bet if you got that feeling.I can tell you from experience Vegas is right more than they are wrong, not even Pro's are perfect. Its a one or two game season for a gambling man.Pick the right game and bet high and if your right , you eat steak for a while.I will say once again, those folks ain't in it to lose money but sometime they get it wrong. With me a lot of times its a gut feeling that I can't explain , and I just know it when I see it.But I've been wrong to ! Lol..

The problem Is they are a better team and LF is a non factor this late in the season due to injuries or you could say due to Les Miles putting to much on this young man's shoulders. They are not as one dimensional as they were early in the year.I think it would be a close one for sure , but at this point in the season , I would take LSU speed and superior athletes over Wisc.jmo

^^^^^ I'd take LSU straight up.I don't even know if you would get a one point spread inn that game on a neutral field.

I would pick LSU over a lot of teams especially with Coach O. at the Helm. LSU recruits with the best of them every year and Coach Miles should have won more than he did with the kids he had on the field. When an average run of the mill fan like myself can see all his plays coming it should be a walk in the park for a D-1 defensive coordinator, and it has been.

LF would have been a Heisman winner and LSU would have been in contention for titles with 10 more passes per game, even if they were incomplete.

I have never been a Miles fan per se, I am a fan of the run game but at some point you gotta throw the ball to get them out of the box. The Miles LSU teams saw 9-10 in the box all the time.

Coach O will make a difference.
