I've got a friend of mine who uses rolled leather buckle collars. They're sturdy, look great & don't distort the dog's neck.

No, they have their crazy moments when I'll let them do what they will. But like bahmutt said, the 2 inch collars distort the neck of the dog, but for tieing out, definatly a 2 inch. I'm going to start using both, use a swivel around the 2 inch collar and nothing on the smaller one so you can clip your leash to the small one and just take off the 2 inch one and leave it.

See how their neck kind of disappears? I like to see a nice long arched neck.

Yup, same dog. Thanks guys - he is one of mine. ADBA Ch, probably AADR too (gotta count up those points, lol).

He's not good enough to grand, so we'll see how he does in weight pull next.

    got a pedigree?

  10. I comepletely agree with the neck thing....
we used to use the 1 1/2 and 2" collars, but you really shouldnt...
the judge needs to see the neck/line!

I also think that leather for the show is more professional and makes the dog look better....
Which is what we are going to start using...
Thank you Stillwater for that to be possible!

  11. Thats what we always did...well we would put a new one on them for the show, so it wasnt dirty..but same difference, but them 1" leather make the neck line stand out so much, we are going to try...
might not work..but we will always have a 2" for backup!
