Clemmons dogs

Discussion in 'APBT Bloodlines' started by Haggiebear, Sep 9, 2013.

  1. Hi there was curious if anyone is familiar with this line of dogs.... Particularly dogs down off of six bits.... I know everyone for the most part think they have the best dogs on there yard or else you wouldn't be feeding them... I'm truly trying to start an informative thread where others could put info with personal experience so that people that aren't to familiar with this family of dogs can get a good idea as to what they bring to the table... First question do this paticular family of dogs have good nerves .... Example a had a dog at one time that was good when other dogs are close by but you take the other dogs out of the equation and the dog had trouble coping with stress and had envioental sensitivities... In other words dog would spook if something was out of place or spook and be skid dish if the dog was outside its comfort level... Do dogs down off of six bits or clemmons stuff In general, are they bold out going intense physical type dogs by physical i mean rambunctious in nature or are they more reserved and shy ... What about intelligence... Reason I ask I have read that some frisco dogs are shy by nature... I myself prefer outgoing confident dogs that are rambunctious in nature as opposed to a dog that is shy ... How about intelligence.... I know for the most part true gamey pits will let all intellegence go out the door when they red eye n turn on... But how are there intelligence out of drive.. Also what about health.... I have heard good things about the Virgil dogs but I was just curious about the clemmons dogs....I hope the questions I have asked are honest enough for most with experience to answer and hope this thread doesn't get deleted by moderators.... I'm interested in it all the good and the bad.. Thank you and best regards Luis Castillo

Sixbitsits himself was probably what JD considered a good dog and probably a fine representative of his yard. I say probably because I never spoke to him about Sixbits. But he bred real physical dogs that represented the line well. The best Sixbits dogs I saw ALL had Nigger Toby in the ped and were DIRECTLY off of Sixbits. Once people started breeding peds instead of dogs which was immediately.... the Sixbits line started gaining a bad rep. I don't care for the blood, but know people that do. I would say that as a whole they were confident dogs around people and a pleasure to be around on the yard. But they became known for quitting on top. Yes.... there are exceptions. But the Nigger Toby line was properly culled and continues to produce better hunting hounds than the Sixbits stuff ever did or will. JM2C

The bigger Toby stuff is just as bad off as the 6bits. There are a small group that bred it true but most of t was bred tight with the main focus on being able to repeat zebo's name x amount of times.

Most of the sixbits stuff I've seen wasn't very smart and pretty nutty. Tendency to bite. Rough animals. A lot of it out there is pretty shit but there's some good blood being used as well.

vewry true naus so many ppl want it bred tight instead of looking to see if they are throwing the traits sixbits himself was known for it is the same with all lines if u here richard garcia talk about certain lines he makes a great point a lot of these lines today are not exhibiting the traits of the dogs they were trying to create

I love my sixbits hound. Best dog I've ever owned and will be the foundation of my yard. I also have Toby blood ...also great animals when comeing from quality sources.

With all due respect man, the people that are breeding Toby dogs true don't even think of them as Zebo dogs,(I'm not referring to the rumors of Zebo's breeding) and the line speaks for itself. I wouldn't take Sixbits himself over a dog off of these yards.

Sixbits produced some good dogs. The best I saw were off of Sixbits and Black Jett. I hear he produced well when bred to a daughter of Black Jett's brother Maverick II over CT's Little Missy. The best I saw from him always had Toby in the ped.

There were and sill are some very good dogs down from him. And I tip my hat to the people who did what it took to keep it that way. But I personally won't keep it.

I've owned a few down from this line and I've had good and bad results. The dogs I had were hard keepers and I just lost a dog due to the heat down from this line. Had a chance to buy a male straight off 6bits a few years back, he was older and I planned to pull straws off him, he died from a snake bite. When I would visit and look into that dogs eyes, you could tell he was CRAZY!!! LOL

I just posted those peds because they Clemmons dogs and this thread is about Clemmons dogs and I like them a lot, hope the owner of them don't mind. If you look at the pics of the dogs on his web site you will notice that his dogs are absolutely the most magnificent looking specimens of the line.

That's a fact...... But if it was line bred/inbred Sixbits I would have serious reservations. Especially over breeding the dog.

The Oreo bitch in this dogs ped was a VERY nice dog and a good producer. There are certain dogs that for whatever reason leave their mark on you, and you will never forget. Oreo was one of those dogs.

I personally can't think of a dog down from Sixbits that made a dog of itself that DIDN'T carry Toby in it also. I know that there are some out there, I just can't think of any.
