Opus X double coronas are my favorite, I also like the greycliffs once in a while, but if you want to treat yourself to a flavorful even a bit spicy cigar go with the opus.:D

I actually own a Cigar retail and Distribution business, so yes I smoke cigars.

Those that enjoy Cohiba, Monte's, Romeo's, Partagas, and all that other Dominican stuff (non-cubans) should try some better stuff from Nicaragua.

    Some Suggestions:
    Illusione
    Joya de Nicaragua
    601
    Padilla
    Padron

    Honduran Suggestions:
    Alec Bradley (has several lines)
    La Aurora
    Carlos Torano

I 2nd the Nicaraguan stuff. I've noticed that if I really like a smoke, it's from there. I've only had the Carlos Torano Exodus and would recommend it.

Padron's are the best! Perdomo's are very good as well, along with Partagas. I also like Arturo Fuente. If you want a good cigar for a decent price try some Rocky Patel The Edge. Those of you that see me at the shows you know I always have a good supply of cigars!

Any chance you go to MI shows? lol... I like the way you think with The Edge. \/
I always almost turned off of RPs after my first one. I had to keep relighting it and it just didn't live up to the talk of them. I realize now that it must have been a bad stick because they are some of my go to 'gars. The Edge is one of my favorites. So far, my top 3 would be:
    Padron 1964 Anniversary
    Oliva Serie V
    The Edge

I've also had a Kristoff Maduro I really liked, but it's a little too pricey to be lighting up all the time.

I've never even heard of some of these cigars. I've smoked some very inexpensive ones and enjoyed them. So what's the pricier ones like in taste and price? I seen someone say something about spicy? That sounds interesting. Guess I'm just cigar stupid??? Lol

Spicy just means there's some "heat" to the stick...kinda like the feeling in your mouth after eating a pepper; or peppery like some black pepper. I always recommend an Oliva Serie V for beginners coming into the cigar world. It has enough flavor to be enjoyable, but is not a powerhouse full of spice (pepper). You don't want to go to pricey because 1) your palette may not be able to recognize the differing flavors and 2)pricier doesn't mean better. Pretty much stay away from anything sold in gas stations or Tabacco Stops. The best thing to do is figure out what type of body you like (light, medium, full) and whether you like natural vs maduro, though that is not always the case. I personally prefer maduro as I think they bring more coffee/cocoa/leather flavors and they tend to be creamier. It's hard to recommend a cigar to someone that doesn't really know what they are looking for.

Ok WWII where would I find such a cigar. Again I'm stupid to the good ones but always been interested. I like the spicy idea too as I am a pepper finatic lol. Wouldn't mind trying a good cigar to see the difference.

Hard to say where you could find one locally. Look for a tobaccoist that specialized in cigars/pipes. If all else fails, you can order online. I use Cigars International - discount cigars, humidors, cigar accessories. If you really are a pepper fiend, then try an Onyx Reserve or CAO Brazilia. The Brazilia is a good smoke.

Tried to PM, it says you have disabled receiving PM's, lol.

As far as Spicy cigars, I suggest the following:
    Don Pepin Blue Label
La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Chisel
Oliva Serie O or Serie G Cameroon.

I DO NOT recommend Oliva Serie V...unless you want to throw up. I am not sure what that member was speaking of, but Oliva V's are a strong cigar. Let me explain the cigar terminology:

Strong - The strength of the cigar based on the effects of Nicotine

Mild, Medium, Full - Different levels of "bodies" of the smoke. The body can be described as a combination of strength and texture or feel of the smoke.

Spicy, Earthy, Creamy, Sweet, Rich - Various flavors that vaguely describe a cigar. For instance, A cigar can have sweet spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg on the palate, or black pepper and a "hot" spicy on the palate. You have to have the palate to pick some of these flavors out; anyone can do it, just takes time to train your senses to pick them up.

Here are some flavors that can be had in cigars (naturally, non-artificial):
    Tobacco (Sweet or Natural)
    Earth
    Spice (Sweet or Hot)
    Coffee (Bitter or Rich)
    Chocolate (Bitter or Sweet)
Fruity (Usually a Cherry note or a Citrus Note...sometimes Raisin)
Wood (Usually Cedar or any other aromatic wood)
Leather (Yes, some cigars have notes of leather)
Nuts (Cashew, Almond, and Walnut are common flavors)
    Bread (Usually a "toasty" flavor)

Most of the flavors can be picked out easier by retro-haling the smoke through your nose. Do not swallow the smoke, it will upset your stomach pretty bad. Most "flavors" are associated with a smell...which is why blowing the smoke through your nasal cavity can help you pick out some of those flavors.

    Hope this helps...

I don't think the Oliva V is strong at all. I mean, full bodied but not what I would consider strong like a Cain or something packed with ligero. But, then again, taste is subjective. I have given it to new smokers and they loved it.

Having a Gran Habano Connecticut w/ some coffee before I go into class. I'm not a big fan of Connecticut wrappers as I think they are a little bitter tasting. None the less, still decent.

Anyone have anything good lately? I haven't had time to relax with a good cigar because school and work is killing me. The only time I get to light up is when doing yard work, and I'm not using my good sticks for that. Just some simple RP and Oliva Os.
