...scatterbred is a redboy strain intense in your face blowing wind...

...scatterbred is for people that breed in pedigrees,,,
hopscotching from one to another with no plan???

... a dog without papers is like a dog with out a birth certificate,,,
there is no way to figure out who they are???

American Pitbull Terrier vs American Bully Thompson Kennels Interview - YouTube

...only sound advice is the chain set up is the best way to keep your dogs...
... and the dry day or fasting/flushing your dog...
... not horribly spoken,,, but words from a peddler...

...Too bad the ones doing the interview didnt find a peddler with a better understanding of the breed,,, as he mentioned they were already a breed when they came from scottland and ireland and as if the pitbull wasnt created,,, refined and named after its birthplace,,, THE AMERICAN PITBULL TERRIER...

    ...DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE...

  2. it allready was a breed, you can't say it wasn't a breed just because it wasn't recognised by a club lol
yes it as been refined in the old usa, but any other breed have been added so basically it's the same breed !

Pistola.I like your definitions. My wife breeds Chihuahua's for $$ She was into Horses before we met,...
so Breeding a mother to son and then putting a pup or female back into the pool is everyday business. She breeds Best to best
for the traits that she needs. Good Skull, color, small feet ,size, Fur length ect ect. NO different from the Quarter horses .

I have learned alot from some horse people greyhound people and also pidgeon racers,,,
and these animals of performance do share secrets of inbreeding and linebreeding in their genetics,,,

but I was posting what thompson kennels misconception on jockos breeding and also
    inbreeding and linebreeding...

inbreeding is brother to sister,,, son to mother or father to daughter...
Inbreeding might also be a pedigree that is limited in its genetics...

all though this isnt the typical inbreeding of siblings or parental,,,
at first glance willy is linebred on the gringo dog but
in my opinion this is an example of a inbred family with no outcrosses...

linebreeding is when both the top and bottom of the pedigree on a specific dog,,,
most all bulldogs of today are linebred on tudors dibo thousands of times...

You're foolin yourself if you think no other breed has been added. I'm talkin about after they got to the New World as it was called. Way back when ppl had no need for a "pure bred dog." That came from show ppl and trickled in IMO. I'm sure folks have added a breed or 2 since they got here! They didn't have the time or money to be picky back then, again IMO. I feel that's why the dogs vary so much. If they were performance bred, who cares how pure they are/were unless the parents performed too. Field Labs look nothing like show Labs to me

Been breeding since the late 90's, so basically when he was 10 years old. LOL

  9. i don't see why they would have done that, cross a gamedog with a non gamedog is something stupid !!
if you're plan is to get game dogs you have to cross them with game dogs, wich game dogs was in the usa at that time ? and if you allready had some game dogs why import them ? not all come with the immigrate, many have been imported by usa peoples !! why ?

the dogs vary so much because they wasn't breed for confirmation in the gb so that's easy to understand.

Are you kidding?? DNA your "purebred" APBT and see how many breeds come up... You're a fool to think those ppl cared about purity over work... There were native dogs here THAT WORKED before the settlers got here... They didn't have a .10 of the resources we have and it's STILL rough to get good working dogs. What do you think they did, wait til they found more "bull and terriers" to breed to??? Few had the option, MOST didn't. So I'm sure they bred what they could. Name some breeders from the 17-1800s... The list is shoooort. Why?? Because they were still mixin the right amount of THAT to get THIS. Dogs of different regions had different looks IMO. Look at the Colby dogs. They had more of a terrier build in the beginning, why you think that is? I'm sure it's because his first dogs had more terrier influence. There's also a Boston terrier, coincidence? Probably not... Redboy was rumored to be part Hound. Them ears tho! Aren't/weren't the Carolina's filled with hunting type dogs? Why wouldn't they have crossed what they needed for WHAT they needed??? Ppl seem to forget the Terrier blood is what THEY added for gameness, bulldog for tenacity and strength of build/bone, right??? Or did I make that up...........?

They did breed for confirmation in GB. How do you think the "bull and terrier" type came along?? They clearly knew what bulldog, mastiff, and terriers types looked like. Then why call the "type" bulldog and terrier?? Work and confirmation sometimes go hand in hand. Others, not so much.

Let's not forget about the Cur dogs and Catahoulas, Mountain and Black Mouth Curs that is. They STILL cross them into working dogs to varying degrees. By they, I mean hunters. Ppl who need a working dog, not a pure one. Purity is an elitist thing... I'm guilty of it too. Tryin to "keep the family alive" at all costs or just breed good working dogs. Which is better? I'm battling myself on this debate

C-note, yes confirmation and "TYPE" are important. I know some folks don't like to hear that.
Having a first hand working knowledge of "Bandogs" words like Phenotype and Hybrid Vigor
    are not strangers to me.

Naw but they can help choose who gets to the box. By that I mean the pups you choose might look like, or act like a parent or grandparent. I ain't sayin those are the only 2 deciding factors, but I think they help when 6 out of 8 pups look like the rest of the family. I'm placing the oddballs and keeping the 6. I know you get me, just gettin up my post count with decent convo lol

On topic tho. If he had said Jocko was a Mayfield, he woulda been onto somethin. Everybody is an expert tho. Think about the ppl that DONT know better.... Sucker born every minute

I personally stopped thinking I have any clue as to how pups will turn out before they mature. It's fun to try to guess but usually is disappointing. As far as family traits go, I clearly understand what you mean but I'm also a guy with a yard full of light and dark red/rednose eli/Bullyson dogs lol
