I agree history proves to be a simpler time. You misunderstand, today you do not have to be doing anything ILLEGAL to suffer from those that fear you...that is my point. I have in no way accused you of doing anything illegal, if you thought that I apologise and correct the perceived miscommunication. I refer to the sepratists perspective as the "dying" breed. Even if you run a safe and legal business, if you cannot demonstrate that the only way EVERYONE else can be safe from the danger your dog poses to another dog is a chain and a fence, then John Q see yous as a danger (thus the need for the chain and the fence...circular logic I know but that is what they see). They do not understand what you are doing is actually the safest. But if you are walking around with a very controlled animal (game or not) then no one even notices you...my point.

As far as what I do for a living I develop military communication and surveillance technologies. It is amazing what you can see from a satellite...anywhere in the world at any time, you just need to know where to look.....you can see some the numbers on someones mail box.

Calling anyone names and mocking them BECAUSE you do not agree with them is disrespectful, you may disagree with anyones methods, but it is disrespectful to dismiss someones life works when in actuality you really know very little about it.

Boze i know about as much about you as you do about me.
what i do know is that cesar would not in my opinion be able to have a true game bred bulldog as a part of his pack. as someone who has dogs that you must actually class as game bred i wonder how much experience you have , and beleive me i mean that in the nicest possible way.
and from the knowledge i have about alot of people come on here i dont think i could name one that has any real experience who would think different to me.
if you think i can be proven wrong along with the others, i would love to see it in fact if you could prove me wrong i would be more than happy to be taught the method used.
there are obviously mixed opinions for both sides and thats the way is going to stay so how about we let it go.

    Tony,
All you have are Dogo's and your talking about DA with APBT's? I don't get it! Have you ever had a real bulldog or just Dogo's? I have worked with Dogo's from hunting lines and they are not comparable to APBT's at all. I actually looked into getting some a few years back but then went a different route.
Then you say you use a stun gun as a break stick? Sorry that is just bullshit!:(

This whole thread went down hill fast and got way off topic. Using APBT's in the way he does is not great for our breed since it make so many think they are as harmless as the next dog. While DA can be managed a "pit bull" should never be trusted not to fight, plain and simple! So you all can argue that he is a great trainer or the worst fraud, everyone has an opinion.

tony is that a Dogo that seen some hog hunting you keep mentioning? my lil 38lb coyote killdog has more scars from doin what he does, and i know hogs are rough as hell. your dog looks clean to me.

and btw, your Dogo:rolleyes: might have tried to "hump" that mutt, but my DA APBT wouldnt have let that happen. DA is a relative term, and your dog seems as DA as my moms beagles. lol...im bettin youve never seen extreme DA, and should no longer address training apbts. no training in the world would allow that to happen around my house, and its not for a lack of training ability. its about knowing what i can realisticly achieve with my animals

those dogs are very good lookin dogs man and i see where you are comin from you average person should not attempt and unless you are prepared to seperate them if necessary then you are right it should not be done

i agree man and truthfully it is stupid to even argue about this. because mostly i agree with you these dogs are different and will benefit more in a situation where someone knows how to handle them, i just got faith in the guy for some reason but you are right probably none of those dogs are game bred

there aint nothing wrong with keeping them on chains. truthfully that is the best way to keep them i believe they thrive like that. but i also enjoy being able to walk my dog who does dispize other dogs out in public without them pulling me and lunging after every dog they see. i can tell you that by doing this i have changed many peoples perceptions about the breed i stop and talk to people and educate them i got about ten little kids on my street and all there parents say my dogs are the best behaved dogs they have seen and they all have come to really love pitbulls. i even try to educate people on how the matching of dogs used to be if they ask and i explain to them that all this crap they hear and se on tv is bogus and believe me they are starting to see the picture. i got a spring pole in my back yard and a treadmill fo all to see and my neighbors think they are awesome and enjoy watching my dogs use them. i have never had AC come to my house and they no i got a treadmill and see nothing wrong with that. and all this has come about by having my dogs act good in public

  13. As I said before Tony, you lack a lot of knowledge about even the Dogo.
The dogo was created in 1928 by Dr. Antonio Martinez Nores in the province of San Luis, Argentina. I truly doubt that your brother was of age to know him back in 1928 but who knows....
After the Dr.'s death his children Rodolfo, Abel, Marta and Beatriz carried on breeding the dogs on their ranch La Cocha that is in Cordoba, Argentina. (my main yard is in Catamarca, Argentina about 150 km. from Cordoba).
In the 80's their breeding was aided by Miguel Angel Garcia Montaño and later in the 90's Mr. Jose Luis Amaya joined in the breeding of the dogs and helped erradicate a lot of the defects that were ocurring due to the high level of inbreeding.
Today, La Cocha is the home of the Nores family and the cradle of the Dogo Argentino as it has been throughout its history.

I may not know much about dog training or the great Cesar but I think that after 30 years with these mutts I do have a little idea about them. At least enough so that I don't have to electrocute my dogs to part them...

I leave you a picture of the originator of the Dogo Argentino, Dr. Nores.

i have picks of the APBT ill PM those if to you if like? also the Dogo in that pic doesnt have DA he's actually at a dog park in that pic. that Dogo also gets along with APBT but i'll be honest an say that its partly because they are "use" to each other.

he is clean cut collar and kevlar vest are to thank for that, why in the hell would i want to possiblely ruin a $2500 companion? would you?

nope i have an APBT also i can PM you the pic to confirm if you want?

also i dont use a stun gun as a breakstick i use it INSTEAD of a breakstick. im not sure why you guys get all up in arms about that, i mean think about it would you rather a cop use a ASP baton on your or a taser? i personally pick the taser anyday.

just because i want to know, what steered you away from the Dogo?

you clearly lack the ability to read an comprehend in the english language please go read my post again, i said my breeder knew the brothers. my brother is no where near the age to know the Nores'

so you have never used a shock collar? anyway beside the point, like i said if i get a chance to come to argentina your taken my out for a hunt :D you said it.

I hear you perf, my girl is never out of my control and I am the only one that handles her. A point about CM, I am sure you understand this theory. He does not say if you have a PB go out and get yourself a pack they can romp in, he says (and many times) HIS PACK is a rehabilitative tool. Most dogs respond to discipline by OTHER dogs as they are pack animals, and in the pack disrespect is not tolerated as whole, very effective...he never does NOT say this is a TOOL! He also says in "red case" dogs, the pack may not even be used as a rehabilitation tool, depends on the dog.

As far as what the general public thinks about what is appropriate for for a PB, tell me how many of these folks go out and acquire a red hot game dog....they don't, they most often end up with pet bulls, in which case CM methods of training are very adequate. Regardless they are never told to go mix your PB with the neighborhood mutts, they are encouraged to have control over their dog.

On the flip side of that John Q does not care what the difference is between Daddy and your game dog is, they are both feared equally, so Daddy being shown as a "force for good", instead of destruction scratches the game dog owners back from the publics perception as well as the pet bull owner.

Just for conversation....if you have a game dog I do not think you are dealing with DA per say. Aggression may be the fuse to engage in conflict for the APBT, but it is game that sustains them. I think many have not seen that. My girl is an AS, momma an APBT and daddy a UKC red nose AS, conformation champ....I think she is very DA...but cannot say if she were ever conflicted she would be in it for the long haul, vs my MM dawg...seen him go at once, I was attacked by another dog (AS) and you could see where he came from...he is "in it to win it", DA and game, worlds apart IMO. I think in training a game dog keeping that "fuse" stable, thus never tapping into the game is key.....all trainers have their ways of addressing "drive diversion"...CM has some good techniques.

  19. Tony perhaps you should re-read your post to me, in it you stated:
"im so game for that my breeder here in florida actually knew both brothers that created the Dogo. he remains true to their purpose and breeds to the brothers standard."

Now while I may have misinterpreted that you said it was your "breeder" who knew the "brothers", clearly it was not any brothers who created the breed but just one man, Dr. Nores!
You talk about this "breeder" of yours that breeds to the "brothers" standards yet you show us a beautiful untouched dog and tell about how you use kevlar protection for your dogs. There is no kevlar or any kind of protection used on dogs here Tony, so I have to wonder what you "think" this standard is that these mysterious "brothers" breed to.
Anyway, I think that your research about the breed is lacking and your knowledge falters. And these are just plain boar hunting dogs, as far as the American Gamedog you lack even the most basic knowledge about that breed and its characteristics and traits.
And while I certainly don't want to stop anyone from trying to help out the breed in any way and I commend you on your efforts, I just think that you go about it in the wrong way and could end up doing more harm than good in the long run. I hope I am wrong.
As far as hunting here, of course you are welcome, we always like to meet new people who share our interests, in this case the Dogo. But I must warn you that I think you are very emotional (by the way you comment on your dog) and if that is the case you will not enjoy it much here. In our hunts here there is no kevlar, no protection and no guns are used, only dogs and knives. The wild boar here are very large and extremely agressive and they know how to use their 8-10 inch tusks very well to open up your dogs like a sardine can. It is not uncommon to lose a dog or two on every hunt here, it's just part of it.
And most importantly, we will be hundreds of kilometers from any kind of civilization when hunting so should your dogs falter and not hold their catch you yourself will suffer the attack by the boar and there is a very good chance you will be very seriously hurt or even killed so I think it is a very, very bad idea to hunt with dogs that you are not sure can take being ripped open and still maintain their hold even if it means their lives, since the other option is that you may lose your life.

Don't worry though, as our guest we will take care of you and make sure you are not harmed as best we can but you will most likely lose most of your dogs as they are not bred or tested to the "standards" the dogs are bred and tested for here. But I guarantee you that after you experience a hunt here and see the dogs work you will return home with a whole new attitude about what a real working dog is like.

Anyway as far as the apbt goes, you really should make an effort to learn more about the breed and its heritage as it has a very rich and fascinating history that I am sure will open your eyes up to what they are really like and give you a better understanding of why your comments here are not accurate statements.

Not as strong a pack leader? Seriously? Do you know what type of dogs you're talking about? Mental control? Ya know what, when they start selling "Doc Spock's Vulcan Mind Meld" technique as a home study course, I'll look at this post, it's insinuations and semi-loaded questions in a less mirthful light. I get the feeling that those who truly know that not all dogs are made for all things, and that when it comes down to it, knowing, respecting and controlling the dog you have by whatever means you have is what it's about, wouldn't even need to ask.
