Might be a good idea to explain what body type you're after. There's the older style solid bulldog type bodies and the newer ( back to the original shape),wirier, leggier pitbull build. There's some great photos of both styles on this site. Take your time and be fussy, as you said your looking for a lifelong mate.

Funnily enough....My house dog has now moved to spain to live out the ret of her years with the sun on her back! My misses wants a pup that has to be red :ermm: and as its more than likely me that will end up walking and training her, id prefer it if she was well bred preferebly likely to have plenty of wind, so if anyone hears of any litters coming up, id be grateful if you could give me a nudge.
    Many thanks Dan.

you could always go to a stafford show ! not all breeders are heading towards fat, froggy, bulgy eyed non descript mutts . at the few i have been to there seems to be one or two genuine fanciers(breeders) which stand out from the crowd . you might just see something you like .

A staff beeing a replacement for an APBT, this is the first LMAO, and since when are the working type of sbt's the 'new' type.
The working type is the 1 to go and proper bred very hard to tell apart from APBT.
The 'new' type is the barrel chested KC sbt that you see walking around, jmo

To OP, look around till you find what you like, go to a sbt show or an aces event.
