Bulldog brand knives

anything from the old school arkansas stones that have been passed down to me, as well as ceramic and diamond stones ive picked up myself, and i always finish with a strop.


if a fella hasnt mastered free handing it, this is the best sysem out there. the ceramic stones register hared than diamonds on the rockwell hardness scale, and it takes all the thinking outta sharpening a knife. you will get some scary sharp knives in a short period of time using this setup.

Hey Lee, I am watching it, they added 2 more sunfish. On my phone n cant post the link. One with the dog logo and the other is the sunfish blade, starting @ $70 check um out if u get a chance. Not a 100% fan of the painted blade, I believe u can get them just engraved. Think I might be on that dog logo, but now I am probably bidding against all u lol

 

My bad the one with the sunfish is an elephant toe not a sunfish style.

 

not me, im not bidding on anything on ebay right now. ive been told if i spend anymore on "toys" this week im gonna be grounded...and us guys know what "grounded" means...no lovin for a week LOL

 

lol I thought maybe when a knife got dull you told her it was no good and you had to buy another one but it sounds like she's onto you. Nothing wrong with being grounded every now and then. You get your toy then after a week you make up for lost time.

 

and some of the collectible ones go for much more than that. supply and demand man, and right now the demand is high. folks who've been collecting different brands of slippies are now getting into the BB knives, so the prices are now comparable to the more desirable Case knives, and we all know how expensive they can be. just gotta be carefull which ones you pick up, they had some qc issues in the past with their 440 stainless blades and they didnt make for good users, the steel was too soft. i completely forgot i even had one of em many years ago...a trapper model...thats probably cuz i got rid of it as soon as i found a fella who would take it lol, and i stuck with Buck and Case slippies from then on. now im on a bit of a sodbuster kick but this one is gonna be a display knife

Dumb that they changed the stamp. Definitely like the original best!

 

I gotcha.It's a buyers market right now IMO tho.The site I saw the under $50 (or $50-$80) most were snagged,and were prolly a higher # made.

 

i got my BB sodbuster yesterday, and it is everything i hoped it would be. fit and finish is excellent, snaps open and closes tight, and sharp enough to shave with. gonna be real hard to just display it and not drop it in my pocket once in awhile.

no that aint a flaw in the grind, im just a shitty photographer working with a shitty camera...trying to get the lighting right to show the image on the blade clearly was kinda tricky.
