    Effective how?

It's the law here so it effectively keeps the game commission from fining me lol.

You have to wear at least 250 square inches of blaze orange visible from 360° when deer hunting in PA. including a solid orange hat. You don't want to be in the woods without it here or some fucker will mistake you for a deer and send a hot .308 round your way so it effectively keeps me from getting shot by mistake as well. As for the deer, it don't much matter since they are color blind.

No such thing as a Mongo field rat.

Mongo is just a slang word for 'big' or extra large'.

  4. Thanks for explaining the slang Slim..

Thanks for clearing the orenge thing up to AGK..
is that orenge kit made by deerhunter?
they make some good kit..some shit to.
i suppose all companys are like that.

And that orenge would just about get you a time in jail around here lol.
leaf or tree patterns stand out to.the greens on them seem to bright.

Im not really a fan on camo.
but i do have one weird camo thats meant to change color like a comeleon.
    its spooky lol.
but people, and ive even had a dog that was baffled at the voice talking to him from thin air.can not see you..crazy.but very affective.

    All the best.

I'm not sure what you mean my orange kit? Each thing on that table was purchased seperatly here and there. That's nothing what I posted. Just my grab and go deer gear. Very basic. I hate carrying a bunch of crap with me. We do miles and miles of hiking since I do very little still hunting, the more I take the more I weigh.

Deer are color blind so it don't much matter what colors you wear, they won't see them. What they do see is patterns or shapes. The real tree pattern she wears and the orange camo pattern I wear breaks up your siloute so they dont see the shape of a human. You blend in to the environment to deer. You stand out to though to other hunters. That's kind of the idea. I never get seen by deer and I've never took more than a 30 yard shot at a deer in archery or rifle. More times than not I get them with in 20.

It's their sense of smell and their hearing you have to beat, not their vision.

Crows, Turkeys and predators I would worry a lot more about what pattern or color I was wearing. Deer, not so much.

My red nose pup will be 6 months on the 4th of January. Today he had his first real fitness test on a twelve mile trail behind two gaited horses. It took us exactly 1 hour and 42 minutes. He actually went ahead of us three times with the help of our other bulldog. Twice they ran out 9 deer and two coyotes. Which was a blessing as the two horses we were on were both young and only green broke. Neither dog ever took a deep breath or had their tongue hanging out. However when we got home he claimed his bed and is not moving despite the deer meat I’m browning for their dinner. It’s amazing how his body has changed in the past 3 weeks or so. He’s Actually starting to look like his great great Gpa the great Jocko. I’m going to try and post a couple pictures.

if anyone has any critiques or comments on his build please let me know. All of my training experience is with gun dogs, so I’m struggling a bit working him the way I would with a pointer or retriever.

  9. 12 miles is a long walk for a six mouth old pup..but thats just my oppinion.and dont mean what your doing is wrong..though ide cut the milege down a bit to be on the safe side...
dont go over board..you cant test his fitness at that age.and Bulldogs are the most athletic breed,so as long as hes kept in good health his athleticisem will always be there to see...
this is no critisam.far from it.
what your doing with your dogs is real awesome.you seem real dedicated, just dont jump in to it.take your time.
i hope other people comment to help you further...

Its great the way you have got your dog steady with your Horses..and with the work your putting in,you will have a great hunting team in a couple of years.
hunting big game with Bulldogs with me following on Horse back is something i can only dream about.
The Dog,Man and Horse combo is a age old thing.something ide love to experience.something to take us back to basics.

All the very best to you in your quest.
    YIS.

Thank you for the feedback. if you ever want to take a a couple days off come see us and we’d love to stick you on one of our older safer geldings and go for ride through river bottoms. We’ve got little short trails, trails that you need to pack a tent and plan staying a couple nights, and everything in between. Seeing others enjoying riding with dogs running along side bring me a lot of joy.
Open invitation any time to you.

  11. Wow..thats a real fine offer...
    im actully gobsmacked-real permission!

Alas!.im ocens away my freind.but if i ever go on a holiday ill most defintley be contacting you..

Ive only ever had a small few goes on a horse when i was a small boy.so i am unexperienced when it comes to rideing.

But in my country, theres wild poneys on some mountains.they get brought down or taken of the mountain when young and castrated.then put in shows like the Royel Welsh..
im not botherd about putting them in shows..but im am intrested in getting my self one to get around on.claiming it as my own.
they gentel when you rear them yourself but still got that wildness about them..and unlike a horse.can negotiate rough mountain terrain like a Goat.

Do you no anything about chastrateing and tameing wild poneys???
lets get to the pms for a descusion.

    All the best...happy Christmas.
and thank you very much for your very kind offer.
    Salute.YIS.
