Breeding to a well bred cur?

I always think of the complex genetic makeup of an individual dog. There is no such thing as a well bred cur if we are thinking of a rank cur. Not one that quit when he was hot or went two hours and stood the line. Every dog has a complex genetic makeup which makes it unique. If it is a rank cur then it is not well bred. It's litter brother or sister maybe well bred.

I am not sure if you are following me or not but you cannot make an absolute assessment on whether a dog is well bred or not by looking at a pedigree without looking at the individual. A good dog from a mixed background may throw mixed quality offspring. A poor individual from a good background may also throw some good offspring but the truth is you are then putting a poor individual into the gene pool.

The poor individual will surface again and again. I think it is why great lines of dogs are often started on an individual great dog of great parentage. If that individual had an outstanding littermate then that is even better.

I remember an old breeder once told me its like a jar of M&Ms and you shake it you never quite get the same sequence twice but if you remove a few colours the results are more consistent.

I see a few of you said u wud of put the dog down if it was a cur…but history clearly shows some of the best dogs came off cold dogs

This is an interesting subject but history tells us that dogs can produce whether they are game or not. The same goes for not producing. Game dogs produce both game and curs. Many famous dogs are off cold or cur bitches that were out of good dogs. Simple fact is that people breed what they have and sometimes curs produce better than game dogs!

History also old us that a cold dog is NOT a cur.
history also told us that You can breed to curs and they can produce good dogs like good game dogs can produce a larger amound of curs.
history also told us. that if you breed curs to curs shortly enoughf you end up with curs.
history also told us when you breed game dogs to game dogs long enoughf they wil produce game dogs and the longer you wil breed game dogs to game dogs the more game dogs they wil produce,
History told us that when you breed curs to produce game dogs that your practising consesion breedings, wich is ok IF you go right back on track again.
History did not told us that many a Deep game dog is labeld a cur because he quit afther a sevear beating
History told us that the definition of a cur is any dog that jumps the Pit and any dog that quits of top. for no aparend rezen

There are many more things History told us.
one thing is for sure tho. Our dogs are known to be Game dogs I wonder why.....

Breeding curs with nice peds isn't breeding game dogs, its called making pretty pedigrees. If ur jus breeding peds what's the point of even looking at the dogs?
