Tombstone was a great producer and his progeny produced. One of my favorite dogs of the past is tonka. To be honest I would take tombstone over bolio, but they work best together.

  4. I had both bloodlines. My tombstone dogs were slightly better hunters and producers. Buy both good lines of dogs.

It is a hard one to compare to me. Most of the time these dogs dont' come seperatly. If there is one in a pedigree there is at least a touch of the other as well. As far as breeding heavier on one or the other, I guess I would say Tombstone. But to be quite honest they both compliment each other so well, I would'nt want either without the other..lol..If that makes any sense.

it does lonewolf and i noticed that awhile back. From what i have seen most people breed heavier bolio and i have heard lots about bolio in comparison to tombstone which is why i am asking. is there any specific tombstone/bolio dogs that stand out?

Im sure there are lots of them. I don't like to put dogs on pedistals that I don't know. Im sure everyone that has one thinks they have a special stand out. The dogs produce very well when outcrossed, and just like any other line people seem to just want a tight tight pedigree. I have a fairly high concentration of the blood and they are as good as any. The best???Only to me my friend.

  11. I dont believe there are any Tombstone dogs around without Bolio influence and vice versa. The two combined complimented each other very well producing talented bulldoggs with heart depending of course on your source.

  12. Oh and my overall preference would be in a dog with concentrations of both bolio/tomstone in its ped, but most importantly it must come from dogs that act the way they are bred, as this family has a very distinct mentality.

Please elaborate more on the mentality I for one have never had the honor and privilege of owning a heavy bolio/tombstone so what is it about this mentality that makes it so distinct

being that these dogs all come from patrick at some point i would say know one really knows what % bolio or tombstone they are. prime example was "buck", how is he bred?

As far as the pp dogs no one knows for what % of what is in those dogs. I don't know about bolio, but there are a few lines of "pure" tombstone dogs. I say "pure" because there was never a dog with more than 50% tombstone.

    explain that 50% theory please

Tombstone was never inbred as far as we know. Therefore it is impossible to get a dog with more than 50% tombstone.

Them 2 dogs are like Kool-aid and sugar, its just better with both. I never really sat down and tried to find one without the other but I think you'd have a hard time finding that.;)

It is not as hard as you may think. Tonka was bred a good bit before pp got him back. The dogs produced were some good dogs that could also produce. They just were not marketed as much.
