    Yeah my dad used to say that all the time, so true.

    I'm disappointed to see this, too. Tigerlines didn't have the best bedside manner, maybe was a little quick to fire in a 360-degree perimeter, but I've seen that with a lot of members, lol. I really appreciated the great amount of effort he showed in the SBT history thread http://www.game-dog.com/showthread....-Staffordshire-bull-terriers?referrerid=32183 finding and posting a lot of 100-year old plus information that I had never seen before. I thought he had a lot to offer, albeit with some sharp edges.

    Maybe it wasn't a life ban and just a attitude adjustment.I think he did bring forth some info that other members enjoyed reading.I have no problem with the guy.

    ^^^^^ I concur with kitchener n bamaman and I had no problem trying to get tigerlines to 'tuck his head in' as he was starting to get overbearing.....I'm not sure, but I think your given a 4 week vacation, I too would like see him come back with a slight attitude change....(don't want to extinguish his passion)

    When Tigerlines had no real truth or rebuttal to his theories he became REALLY DEFENSIVE and his only defense was to slander others credibility with lies.

    The only time I believe someone should be permanently banned is if he/she is a real threat to this Site, meaning there only goal is to destroy this site then they should be banned forever.

    Yeah, seems very heavy handed, in retrospect. Bring him back! He added some, uh, hybrid vigor.

    Still dont understand how the will to dominate plays any factor when you cant dominate.I guess the word dominate doesnt sit well with me.You say that cant see gameness on the top,but thats what dominate is,being on top.
    I will have to agree to disagree,gameness is the will to take defeat without retreat...
    The will to dominate when your behind and being able to,is game finish and mentality.But not being able to finish or dominate does not detour a dgame dog.

    EP, you're not seeming to understand the WILL to do something as opposed to the ability to do so or actually doing it. Gameness isn't the act of dominating anything. It's the WILL, WANT, UNDYING DESIRE to do so. The heart to never stop trying to do so. It has nothing to do with doing so. If you can differentiate the WILL to do something from actually doing it, and I know you can, you'll see the difference.

    I understand WILL,just not the dominate part....Will 2 dominate=gameness..hmmmm....I see where your coming from but dont agree.Will 2 survive=gameness in my eyes...I think there comes a time when domination is no longer a factor
    and survival comes to surface,some face it some flea..Facing it past the point of no return or "domination" is gameness in most of the worlds eyes.Maybe a certain degree of gameness is will to dominate,but dgame cant be imo..

    Why cant it? Being dead game would be saying ones will to dominate superceded its will to live. Most of the world has no idea what gameness is nor have ever seen it so I dont believe that is what most of the world believes lol.

    I don't think bulldogs fight for the will to survive they fight because it's completely instinctive to them therefore they are not fighting to survive game dogs don't have the flight or fight instinct it's basically been removed that's why these dogs will fight under any and all circumstances where as any other animal will flee for survival as nature intended man altered that when breeding game dogs. I agree with tdk a game dog is not thinking about the will to survive a fight rather the will to dominate their opponent no matter the adversity or circumstances.

    EP. Think just a second. Why would something taking a terrible drubbing scratch back to get more if it's the will to survive. The will to survive tells animals to GTFOT if they're getting trashed. Again, my friend, a WILL isn't "the act of" anything. Dominating, and the WILL to do so are two completely different things.

    Surely you know of dogs that have been thrashed almost an entire contest. The top dog stops. The will to dominate has the dog that's been dominated run hard at the other dog. His WILL to dominate, and not BE dominated, same thing, carried him through. A WILL to do something, and the actual doing it are two different things until that WILL brings the drubbed dog either to the top, or success by scratching because of that WILL no matter what he's taken. Gameness is the undying WILL, want, desire, and unyielding dedication, of TRYING to accomplish domination. I know you're a sharp guy. I don't know why you're having difficulty grasping this. I think you will if you think on it. It's a simple concept, actually. Gameness is the epitome of what having an IRON WILL means.

    WILL. As defined in many dictionaries: Denotes fixed and persistent intent or purpose.
    Purpose or determination, often hearty or stubborn determination; willfulness: to have the will to succeed. Wish, want, desire, stubbornness, unyielding want.

    Just some examples.

    The will to survive is in most wild animals, that's why they run away from a fight. So if we judge by that, the gamest dog would be the fastest right?

    If you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
    If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
    But make allowance for their doubting too;
    If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
    Or being lied about, don*t deal in lies,
    Or being hated, don*t give way to hating,
    And yet don*t look too good, nor talk too wise:

    If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
    If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
    If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
    And treat those two impostors just the same;
    If you can bear to hear the truth you*ve spoken
    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
    Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
    And stoop and build *em up with worn-out tools:

    If you can make one heap of all your winnings
    And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
    And lose, and start again at your beginnings
    And never breathe a word about your loss;
    If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
    To serve your turn long after they are gone,
    And so hold on when there is nothing in you
    Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!*

    If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
    Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
    If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
    If all men count with you, but none too much;
    If you can fill the unforgiving minute
    With sixty seconds* worth of distance run,
    Yours is the Earth and everything that*s in it,
    And—which is more—you*ll be a Man, my son!

    Let's get down to business to defeat the Huns
    Did they send me daughters when I asked for sons?
    You're the saddest bunch I ever met
    But you can bet before we're through
    Mister, I'll make a man out of you

    Tranquil as a forest
    But on fire within
    Once you find your center,
    You are sure to win
    You're a spineless, pale, pathetic lot
    And you haven't got a clue
    Somehow I'll make a man out of you

    Be a man
    You must be swift as a coursing river
    Be a man
    With all the force of a great typhoon
    Be a man
    With all the strength of a raging fire
    Mysterious as the dark side of the moon

    Time is racing toward us
    Till the Huns arrive
    Heed my every order
    And you might survive
    You're unsuited for the rage of war
    So pack up, go home, you're through
    How could I make a man out of you?
