Jeep/Redboy is the one I picked out of the selection above. However if we wind back the clock of time Imo, "The Old Rugged Cross" Colby/Corvino Based on Best on Best Winning Hounds from family's of winning hounds That such great men such as Howard Hienzl / Earl Tudor, who had the know how, along with a gift, eyes for breeding and the patience to see it through ! Ect. From the words of an old friend, More inportant than a pedigree is who bred the dogs and why. He who bites last , bites hardest. TDK .

It doesn't matter much who or why. What is should be of primary concern. This is what the concept "good dogs are where you find them" attempts to convey. Pedigrees provide predictive and explanatory power.

Pedigrees just tell you which dogs the breeder bred together and unless your the breeder (or unless you've owned those dogs before or someone else told you about them) you wouldnt know the reasons or explanatory power behind the breeders decision to breed certain dogs together, UNLESS HE TOLD YOU. That is the importance of knowing who bred the dogs and WHY .....The Concept of Good dogs are where you find them is conveying the EXCEPTION to the rule concept as a good dog can come from any ones yard even if that person is NOT a dogman but that is the exception to the rule as they are not usually consistent. MAJORITY of the time CONSISTENCY wise good dogs come from good dogs on a yard of a good dog man as thats WHAT IT IS. LMAO

"Good dogs are where you find em" will get you lucky. Knowing "who did what and why" will get you the knowledge to keep up the good work. Even when ppl get lucky they usually go lookin for siblings, parents, aunts, and uncles. Which comes back to a "pedigree" type situation, a family tree search. Or who bred what, and why.

Out of list..had to pick Jeep RedBoy..given that is more of a blend then a cross..as they are related.

  13. This is obviously an opinion based question however there is no right answer in any sense being that there are obviously so many different crosses all of them producing winners. For arguments sake though my go to is Eli/Colby

Any peds on this Eli/Colby cross? You’ve mentioned it a couple of times. It’s not a combo I’ve seen often.

I don’t believe Honeybunch was down from Bullyson. I have no proof other than the way the dogs down from both look, perform, and produce. Dogs I’ve seen down from the Bully stuff is WIDE OPEN for the most part. The Jeep dogs I’ve seen don’t remind me at all of the “black stuff”. Just my opinion. I could be wrong

I tend to lean towards your POV on the issue. But it's hard to ignore the fact that Honeybunch was sold to Georgia AFTER Bullyson's loss. Carver could have easily said she was by Ironhead, but didn't. Odd.

How about Dr Roja's Chairo, VBK's Ch Red, VBK's Negrita & BIV's Ch Angel?

From what I understand, Ironhead wasn’t as popular as Bully and his family. Honey left her mark in Ga, and the whole dog world. Carver sold her like stock. Bully was high stock, took a loss, stock dropped. Sell sell sell!! Irish Jerry bought good stock, for the low I’m sure, and made it do what it do. I’m not sure if Carver bred her before he sold her, but if he knew how she produced and sold her, he was crrrrrraaaazy!! Or had better

As far as those dogs, I would consider them a Carver(Spike/Miss Spike/Missy)/Colby/Eli. Little Gator was bred heavy on Miss Spike, imo. He’s got a good shot of Bully tho. Every time you see Bully once, you can find Missy AND Miss Spike
