There ya go man. I only have a problem with it if folks are out to make big bucks scamming other less knowledgeable folks with bullshit "designer breeds." The way I see it, some just take the whole "best to best" concept a step further and just breed the best dog they can find at X task, to the best bitch they can find at X task, regardless of what the dogs look like or what breeds are involved. If it works for them, they control their dogs, and they aren't lying to anybody about what they're working with or why-more power to 'em. I don't have to feed them, so it's not worth me getting angry over. However, I understand the problem of uneducated, uncontrolled, un-culled breeding of any ole' idiot-ass dog to a pit bull and putting it out there with no common sense. After all, when such dumbassed mix-mutt bites someone's child, my insurance goes up, BSL becomes more entrenched, and the news at ten only seems to have a dog that looks like mine in the lead-in, and the anchor person always conveniently forgets to mention the other breed in the "Pit Bull (mix) mauls baby" story.

recently on craigslist there have been the following pit mixes for sale

pit bull/chihuahuha(dont know how that was accomplished)
pit bull/basset
pit bull/beagle
pit bull/sharpei
pit bull/husky
pit bull/pug

last but not least
pit bull/pomerian....

i have no idea what is up in this area with these odd breedings..the pit/basset had the brindle color/pit head on a basset body with basset legs...kind of cute in its own ugly lil way.

 

this is why breedings should be left to pros and ppl who know wat there doing lol but i guess you'd have to know wat ur doing to breed a pit and a chihuahuha lol still dumbest shit ever imo

 

most people do it to make a quick buck. They are the puppy millers and bybs of the world. No thought to the proper care or the health of these dogs come into consideration.

thius is the reason most dogs need to be culled or neutered and spayed.if ever a dog of mine proves himself worthy of breeding , ifor damn sure would spay or neuter a majority of the pups to keep this mess from happening,aside from the one or two that i would keep

I'm tired of people throwing two dogs together and saying...this is my red nose and this is my blue nose...im going to have them make some puppies....uh...have either dog seen a vet, do they have papers? The answer is usually no. sigh...there should be mandatory s/n for household pets. There are low cost s/n clinics around here and no one will go cause they want it done for free....65 is cheap for a neuter/shots and 75 for spay and shots...but they say i cant afford it...well then you should NOT have the dog...they feed them ol roy and dont get them shots then breed them..okay sorry rant over.:mad:

 

it never will as long as people are buying these dogs there is supply and demand. its a never ending battle. It all comes down to education..people need to be taught that this is unacceptable that most of these dogs will end up euthanized before they even reach 1 year. some will be lucky to reach 2 before they wind up thrown away like yesterdays paper.

 

While I will agree they are some really stupid people making some weird breedings that I may not like,I think mandatory anything to do with our animals is crossing the line.In the end it's still their property,and just because I may not think the breeding is a good idea,there shouldn't be a mandatory law forcing spaying and neutering.

 

Im just speaking from personal experience from actually running into and knowing people who breed dogs and cats for no reason other than their own selfish reasons. ugh.

I usually am against anything mandatory.
