there is,punish the individuals who are actually guilty of neglect or irresponsibility much harsher and for any small crime like not picking up crap or having their dogs uncontrolled in any way.

its not a quick fix knee-jerk reaction like this country usually applies but it would work while maintaining our freedom to own the dogs we love without the scum breathing down our necks.

 

Long before the yellow bastard/cartoon gangsters who terrorise our housing estates even discovered the fear power they could exploit out of a gamedog, I was sat at a kitchen table with the Outlaw from East End Kennels in 1991 after the introduction of the DDA... The big man told me that he never believed the UK goverment would ever actually ban the American Pitbull Terrier, he said it was a direct attack on the freedom and culture of the working class in England... I agreed with him 100% but privately I think that I always knew they would ban our dogs because lets face it, ever since Thatcher came to power in 1979 and laid waste to the British Industries, successive goverments have systematically destroyed anything and everything that was associated with the working class... Our places of employment, our unions, our enviroment, our culture, ALL GONE FOREVER!

I don't believe I'm qualified to comment on the history and origins of Gamedogs but I always thought that traditionally they were owned by Chain makers, Steel workers, Shipbuilders and Miners, if they'd been owned by politicians and media magnates then maybe at least our dogs would have had a champion or an infuential voice standing in their corner... We could easily blame this situation on the trash standing on street corners terrorising everyone who passes bye them and they certainly deserve to be hammered for dragging the reputation of our dogs down to their own sewer rat level, but as far as I can remember, they were not around when the goverment instigated the DDA in 1991

I don't think it matters who you are anymore (even responsible dog owners) because when the public see you walking with your little bundle of dynamite pulling on the leash, their attitude and prejudice towards you is usually clearly written all over their faces... The Sun and News of the world have won... That sinister little bastard (Rupert Murdoch) has successfully created a media frenzy of hatred and mistrust towards the Gamedog even to the point where owning one merits doubts over your social status or standing within your community... Coming from a Jewish background the wee rat should know better than to fan the flames of prejudice.

 

The only way to fight back i feel is to use your dog as a weapon, a weapon against the media by taking it with you wherever possible and letting ppl stroke it and draw their own conclusions and see that this so called devil breed is loving and is soft when trained right. I do this in the area i live in, my local park is full of other dog owners who know and love my dog and i feel if every staffy owner does just a little we may get somewhere. Ill be honest iv encountered prejudice and abuse and dirty looks but you have to take it in your stride, is the opinion of an ignorant person to be judged? Or is it better to educate them so they can form an opinion based on FACT over LIE??

 

the papers crack on about how violent todays kids are mine are 18 and 20 and i just dont see it...back in the 80's we would regular spend a saturday at the football teatime in the pub night time at a punk/oi gig often a weekend filled with violence...todays youth didnt invent knife crime and violence its allways been there!.............................................

you have got it in one mixed grill im roughtly the same age as yourself going by what you are saying i now have 5 kids oldest 20 had staffs going on 20 odd years now & can honestly say never had any trouble with them the ones ive had have all lived to a good age ( without any hassle ) i have got 3 staffs at present one aged 12 years old one 5 & a new pup i got few weeks back & if i ever douted that my kids would be put in any danger with any of my dogs then they simply would not be here my mother has had staffs aswell being brought up with her grand children & guess what yes NO HASSLE FROM ANY OF THEM STAFFS & that is coming from a good working class background of dog lovers , so either im lucky to have picked the right dogs ive had or their is a dislike by people who just aint got a clue about that great breed THE STAFFORDSHIRE BULL TERRIRE ...............................................................................................................

as usual.......the bbc edited that programe very well.....showing a stafford growling,pulling on the heart strings by showing the murder of an innocent stafford.lets not forget it was the bbc not too long ago created a shitstorm concerning the dogs.

 

Disgusting, that dog is not a danger at all. I saw very mild growling at most, that is something that honestly even a novice handler could safely deal with.

Now mind you I don't think a dog should ever be put down for DA, but what this dog is showing really isn't even dog aggression he is pretty much just stating he doesn't want to be fucked with. It isn't like he is screaming at the end of the leash trying to bite the other dog when introduced.... he just kind of told him to piss off.... these people would probably piss themselves if they saw what real DA was...

Wtf!? That dog were as aggressiv as a worm.. Almost looked like a dachs/pit/staff mix..
