I'm sure many of you Oklahomans remember the ice storm last December.

Well in that ice storm - I lost the love of my life. Tree limbs cause wire damage which resulted in a house fire. She didn't burn...they said she just went to sleep.

I may be young, and 3 years with this breed is extremely new. I thought I lost it all when I lost her. She is the reason I put forth so much effort towards my education of the breed.

What I want and what I am looking for is anyone in NE Oklahoma (I live in Tulsa) who can introduce me back into the breed. I cannot own right now for I live in an apartment and that is just not fair to the dog in my opinion.

If anyone has any suggestions as to what I may be able to do just to be with this incredible breed - please let me know. I don 't care if it is scooping poop off of yards, I need to be where my heart is.

    Thank you,

    SouthernDixie

Wow, I'm so sorry to be hearing this.

Knew I hadn't seen you around in awhile, had no idea it was this bad :(

In Illinois, I can't help much, but the community is here for you.

I remember that nasty ice storm. We had a big branch fall on one of our vehicles, and spent some uncomfortable time listening to the popping of big branches that were directly over our bedroom. Scary stuff. Very sorry to hear about your girl, but unfortunately not surprised. That was a bad one. :(

I'm in NE Oklahoma, but I don't know what I could offer you. My dogs spend most of the day inside with me, and don't need much. Have you thought about getting involved with our local Pit Bull club? That might give you something breed-related to do while you're waiting to get back into the breed. And there are some folks there who have kennels of dogs who might appreciate the help you're offering.

There's also the Kellyville show in May. I know its not as much fun if you're not directly involved, but its still something to do.

    OMG girl! :(

I've wondered where you've been....and how you are. I'm soooo sorry to hear about your loss. She was an amazing dog and I know she was your best friend.

Just reading this has brought tears to my eyes. I wish there was something I could do for you, but time is the only thing that can "heal" such pain.

I'm not anywhere near you, but I wish you the best in your venture to get back into the breed. And it's perfectly ok to want to get back to these dogs, so don't feel any guilt (I know I did/do when I lost/loose a dog).

    ..........hugs.........
