There were a lot of ebt outcrosses for sure. The stafford is definitely closer to the original dogs if you ask me. All historical images show a stafford like dog. Apbt has a more racy build more often than not.

They look like old time staffords or apbt. A few even look like they have a dash of ebt, but I doubt it.

The early dogs came in all shapes and sizes. Some look like APBT some look SBT some look EBT some look English bulldog. What worked best was bred that's why they look more alike today than the differences of early pit dogs.

Form always follows function not the other way around.

Don't see what that has to with what I said. I'm not going by pictures like a certain mr Stratton. I'm going by historical records, stud adversitments. Etc.

I've never really seen one in person until my best friend and ex kennel partner got one. He didn't want the attention or headache of owning APBTs anymore so he spent a pretty penny on a staffy bull female pup that knowing him is probably bred out the ass. She's a great looking little dog about 27 lbs full grown. Other than size I can't tell the difference between them. She acts a lot like my dogs do just much a smaller version and actually a lot smarter. I seen this thread and figured Id comment since I always tease my buddy and tell him let me know when he wants to put some good ol fashioned heart on top that bitch. Lol. She is not excessively dog aggressive but she don't tolerate dumb shit either like acts of aggression towards her and if you make a dumb move near anyone in his immediate family that Lil bitch reacts. He made a video of him rushing into his house with a mask on and a stick in his hand to and that Lil bitch almost ate him up. Up until he took that mask off before he got bit by his own dog lmao. She's a sweetheart though and very intelligent.

Indeed, it is the other way around - and always has been. The basis of genetic evolution is that mutations and new combinations within gene pools produce functions that were hitherto unknown or physically impossible.

It is this change of form that leads to new and improved functions.

For example, dinosaurs could not have become birds without wings. The wing (form), therefore, must have come before the function (flight).

Dogs are no different. A dog born with greater lung capacity (form) - through a new combination of genes or genetic mutation - may have better endurance (function) than other dogs in his litter or breed. In this example, that function (endurance) can only be bred from that form (lung capacity). You cannot take a dog with lesser abilities and expect it to perform a task beyond those abilities. It's form cannot follow a higher function - it is left behind by that function and dies out. Only those dogs with higher form can perform the higher function and remain in the gene pool.

To wit, form leads function - not the other way around. Think about it.

Winner get bred from , not always the good lookers win ,,its why Gameness is the main aim in APBTs,,,

To the contrary. I've seen you repeat the same mantra throughout these forums. Charles Darwin says you're wrong.

LOL! If you need someone else to explain your own points, there's obviously something wrong with your argument!

How can anyone know what you are talking about when you, yourself, don't know what you are talking about?

One minute "form follows function", the next "The APBT is the same dog the British were using for fighting just with a different name".

    Which one is it?
